Got the chance to curate a photoshoot with my family.

Our little unit had never taken professional photos together and I just had to do it right...sooo I put my new camera to use and shot photographs that showcased my family in the way that I've always seen them: Beautiful, Brown, and Brilliant.

Seeing my dad smile like a kid and getting to hike a mountain with my grandpa(Yes a mountain!!) to one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen. Memories for a lifetime...

Happy Father's Day Daddy and Papa!! You two have raised a unique family on nothing but integrity and selflessness. You are everything men should be to this world.

Faith & The Village - That is what this week has been for me. I stepped out on faith and attended The 17th Annual Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival. Had no idea how I was gonna get there and how my living situation was gonna be. But my Home team came through for me and we made it happen.(I love my family 🙏🏾) THEN, I get the Vineyard living my best balling on a budget life and I meet an entirely new village of beautiful people who took me under their wing and made sure I had an amazing time. Literally strangers who saw something me and supported me through and through.
On top of that. 🙃 The festival itself was just so dope. The facilitators as well as the audience truly appreciate the art of cinema and treated the filmmakers like Gold.
THEN! I screen INFLUENCERS on Friday(nervous as hell), but sat in the theater completely in awww at how in tune people were with my story. Everyone chuckled at the right times, everyone gasped at the right times, everyone felt flustered at the points where I wanted them to be. It just made me proud to know I made a story that for the most part had a clear theme and clarity.(Having a talented cast & crew doesn’t hurt either ♥️✊🏾) THEN! I come back on Saturday to watch a Spike Lee Master Class and find out that INFLUENCERS won the AUDIENCE CHOICE AWARD. Man, 😬😬😬😬. God is good.
Moral of the Story: Step out on Faith, and there is Power in the Village.

The only photo we got alone during my graduation. 🤦🏾‍♂️😂. Happy Father's Day to a man who has dedicated his entire life to his children. He loves hard, and is never afraid to show affection to his boys. A man of true compassion and selflessness. Wishing you nothing but happiness! Love you Daddy!
