Taking my skills and passions to serve under-resourced communities has been such a blessing.

Hearing the constant gratitude and the words, “God bless you,” from each patient after we prescribed them medication that could significantly improve their lives is something I’ll never get tired of.

This year was no different from the first. I couldn’t stop smiling in anticipation of seeing my friends from last year again. I formed a special bond with two people from opposite sides of the country when I met them on my first trip in 2025.

I couldn’t be more grateful to have met all of these incredible people along the way🤍🇬🇹 @vidavolunteer

When they say it’s a once in a life time experience, they mean it. Every opportunity and every chance I get to become a medical volunteer, I fall in love with the art of medicine 10x over. Each trip, I have walked out valuing life a little more, acknowledging the impact that these individuals have on me. They say as future medical professionals our job is to aid and help others, but in return, patients fill us with passion and desire to become better; to do better.

Working in medicine is a choice. A choice I would choose everyday, every year, and in every life. Gracias @vidavolunteer, until next time 🇬🇹
