Out now through @ukfullyfocused find the link in our bio!

Can superpowers solve real world problems? A superhero satire written & directed by me Daniel Christophersen and starring Isobel Imade

This is the story of teenage superhero in the making Hannah Harper who finds that despite her superpowers, she feels powerless to save our real world from its real-world problems. (A feeling I’ve only found to become more relevant!..)

This was our first time working with Issy who dove headfirst into the role, convincing everyone she was not only a superhero but a teenager too! (Far Away Films takes no responsibility for any bruises from wall crawling and superhero landings.)

Making this film was only possible through the help of so many amazing people including my ultimate teammates in DP Fyras Slaiman, PD Sarah Hunt, Producer Maya Wills, Cam Op Katia Hammane and of course Oscar Albert. Plus we had Mari Funabashi conjuring a score truly worthy of the Hollywood world the film riffs from.

Enjoy and bring on the snowflake blizzard ❄️

I remember that in 2023, when I saw Tony Blair’s rock opera in Birmingham, I had a lot of questions in my mind. Why was there no picture of the killer Khamenei next to those useless leaders? Why did all those who caused killings, like Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein, have actors, but not the criminal Khomeini?

I knew a lot of things, such as the fact that England has always supported the Islamic Republic, which is actually being shown these days by not putting the IRGC on the terrorist list and by refusing to allow America to use its bases to attack the Islamic Republic.

So many innocent young people were killed in Iran, and the British don’t care at all. They don’t even let the British media publish this news. They just want to spread bloodshed, but that’s not the truth.

The Islamic Republic has committed so many crimes, and the British have the honor of protecting the Islamic Republic. This is a great crime against humanity

Rainbow sneakers... a reimagining for our stage? Very much so.

In our production of The Wizard of Oz, the famous red shoes aren’t worn by Dorothy (Nimi Spiff), they belong to Emma Jay Thomas as the Good Witch. Did you spot them? Look closely, and you’ll even find a Wicked label stitched inside. Coincidence? We think not.

Costume designer Yoav Segal reimagined every character with a fresh twist. Dorothy bursts with colour: vivid dungarees, a rainbow-bright jacket, badges and giant Afro puffs. “She’s youthful rebellion, but joyful,” says Yoav.

From a close-up of Dorothy’s rainbow sneakers and those shimmering red shoes, to the moment the cast gathers as the shoes glow under the spotlight, and finally the Good Witch standing beside Dorothy at the end, red shoes and rainbow trainers side by side, these details tell their own story. Those ruby red shoes… 👠✨ A wink to the iconic film? Absolutely.

Magic isn’t just in the journey. Sometimes it’s in what you’re wearing along the way.

Costume appreciation 💚✨...from first sketch to final stitch, the costumes for The Wizard of Oz are doing some seriously heavy storytelling.

Designed by Yoav Segal and brought brilliantly to life by costume supervisor Anna Souter, with an extraordinary wardrobe team — Gemma Reeve, Billie Hunter-Brown, Robyn Hardy, Hazel Corcoran and Victoria Richards — every character carries a bold, unexpected twist.

Dorothy (Nimi Spiff) bursts with colour: vivid dungarees, a rainbow-bright jacket, badges and giant Afro puffs. “She’s youthful rebellion, but joyful,” says Yoav.

Toto (Vinne Monachello) exists in two forms, a scruffy, frayed puppet and a boy-dog hybrid: “our hardest costume, but it’s turned out wonderfully.”

The Scarecrow (Kira Hayes) keeps a traditional base with a punk-ish edge.

The Tinwoman (Mia Jerome) blends rust, glam and Latin-dance sparkle “tinsel everywhere… she looks very cool.”

The Lion (David Kirkbride) nods to Rod Stewart, echoing the show’s subtle musical influences.

Emerald City gatekeepers are exaggerated, vain aristocrats with ruffs, bustles and unapologetically smug attitudes.

The Good Witch (Emma Jay Thomas) appears in a striking poppy-red jumpsuit and some stunning red shoes.

The Wizard (Michael Hugo) takes a strikingly contemporary turn, inspired by online influencers. He's charismatic and persuasive on the surface, but his power is revealed to be hollow once the illusion is stripped away.

And the Flying Monkeys? Fierce rock–motorbike hybrids, complete with Mohicans.

Every choice is intentional, character-led and full of personality and a huge credit to the design vision and the wardrobe team who made Oz wearable.

“I’ve always been fascinated by physicality, gender play and the fusion of dance and storytelling.”

Movement Director Stuart Bowden takes us inside the physical world of The Wizard of Oz, revealing how movement shapes character, emotion and the magical lands Dorothy journeys through.

“Movement can help us understand how young minds navigate big emotions, especially grief.”

He shares how physical storytelling helps us understand the characters more deeply, why each world in Oz needed its own movement language, and what he hopes audiences will feel when they see it on stage.
