With it being World Photography day, I thought I'd reshare my favourite photo I've taken this year.

@emmajoust frozen in the perfect moment, the sun glint on the sallet, the caparison fluttering in the wind, lance extended.

It's the sort of photo that keeps my photography passion going!

As the @royalarmouriesmuseum post has just reminded me it's #WorldPhotographyDay and I couldn't let that pass without sharing some of my favourite images of the year so far!

From castles and stately homes, film premieres to live action shows and intense sporting competition at the hallowed ground of the Royal Armouries Tiltyard to my own local park.

A huge thank you to everyone who appears in this very brief selection of images...and to those who haven't! There were just too many to choose from!

This year has already proven to be absolutely epic on the live event photography front and long may it continue!

Lincoln castle joust 2026
What a tournament! Nail biting neck and neck scores right up till the end but eventually team UK took the win based on Targe hits alone. Storm, Steel and Fortune all jousted perfectly like the pros they are 💪🏼
Massive congratulations to all the jousters @emmajoust @kvandolah @vtito_76 and @mikecollin_stunts for an incredible weekend of jousting and looking after our horses so well.
Event organised by @dphevents 🙏🏼

The amazing @emmajoust from such a good day we had shooting some creative sets. Took a punt at the earlier Easter joist at the Royal Armouries to queue up with kids to bob Emma a business card and BOY I'M GLAD I DID. Epic sets, and some epic friends made ❤️

Cornwall's Emma Pearn has been crowned an international jousting champion for the second time🏆⚔️

Competing at the prestigious Arundel International Jousting Championship, Emma and her partner Ben Green were named Team Champions against some of the best riders from England, USA, France and Canada.

Often described as the "Wimbledon of jousting", it's considered one of the toughest tournaments in the world.

Emma, who also won the title in 2024, told Julie Skentelbery she's incredibly proud of how far she's come in the jousting world.

This time last week we were getting ready to go on our EPIC road trip to the mighty @lincolncastle for their International Jousting Tournament!

Our second year of visiting this tournament and once again it didn't disappoint....it exceeded expectations! The USA Vs England and after a weekend of skill at arms and incredible passes it was a dead heat and came down to strikes to the targe... absolutely insane competition!

We were only coming for day 1 initially but ended up staying for day 2 as-well!

Of course @mikecollin_stunts , @emmajoust , @vtito_76 and @kvandolah shone throughout the whole weekend, as we knew they would, creating incredible drama down the lists; along with @lizdc_stunts and @heathcote.equine showcasing incredible skill at arms with their incredible horsemanship.

However the stars of the tournament, as always, were the horses. @mc_dc_stunts were the horses masters for this tournament and their horses shone so brightly. I heard soooooo many people commenting on how incredible Storm was! ( And I have to agree....I've ridden him in lessons, along with Fortune, but to see them steal the limelight in a tournament is always incredible!)

Special mention to @whatapalaphotos for another fantastic fire show too!

@dphevents put on another incredible tournament once again....it never gets old walking through castle gates to watch a Jousting tournament!

Video to follow!
