I had the privilege of taking these photos @ccwm_sydney during a workshop facilitated by @blacktownarts where African heritage artists in Sydney are mentored by @victorsozaboy and saw the thought process behind curation in a gallery space as they installed the show opening 15th of October. About the black and white film photos. They aren’t edited. The negative itself has a mix of negative and positive tonalities. At first i saw it as a failure on my part for not getting my chemistry right or fogging the film but after listening to @victorsozaboy speak about process i embraced the “mistake” and decided to lean into it…a new addition into my photographic language. #blackandehitephotography #kentmerepan200 #digicamphotography

By the way these photos were taken on my way to a fantastic workshop facilitated by @blacktownarts where African heritage artists in Sydney are by mentored by @victorsozaboy Greatest group project i have been part of...more to come #kentmere200

A Saturday worth remembering. 🤎 BCC Connect & Create brought together founders, creatives, professionals and community — creating space for conversations, connections and creative expression. From the activation stations and live Q&A to the music, food, laughter and the people who filled the room, it was a reminder that sometimes the best part of an event is simply who you meet and what happens in the room. We were there to document the moments. 📸 A big thank you to @blkcuratecollective for creating the space, and to everyone who showed up and made it what it was. Were you at BCC Connect & Create? What was your favourite moment? 👇🏾 #ItalawaAU #BCCConnectAndCreate #BlkCurateCollective #AfricanEventsSydney #SydneyEvents BlackCommunitySydney SydneyCreatives SydneyNetworking AfricanCommunitySydney

Flashback Thursday. It’s season two of portrait artist of the year Australia… Are you watching? Last night I caught up on episode 1 & 2 on @abciview. Bloody great TV. Having been an artist on episode 1, Season 1 it bought me back to the nerves and the joy of it. Being selected, the 4 hour training blocks over the summer break, painting my own self portrait, discovering new ways to work, then being there; meeting new artists & icons (@tsehay.hawkins @kendonegallery @maggie_beer @abdul_abdullah @breepickering @robertwellingtonofficial @lukewmcgregor @misstap ) reconnecting with those I trained with back in the day (@jimimay )… and seeing my own student @blairisobelle up there… What a time seeing how the TV production works behind the scenes. Am so greatful. Thanks @endemolshineau . Make sure you tune it. It’s a wonderful heartwarming show. Season 1 is still viewable to. ;)
