Hi! My name is Emma Reddick and I’m from Neenah, WI. Though I’m not 100% committed to UTK, it’s one of my top options! I am hoping to major in Criminal Justice on a pre-law track. I love going out with friends, traveling, staying active, shopping and sweet treats!! I am 100% planning on rushing, and I would love to meet some friends and potential roommates! Go vols🧡🧡

MAP & SOS UPDATE!! 🧠🫂

Today, eight MAP and Sources of Strength students attended the annual Mental Wellness Youth Leadership Summit that is hosted by the Wisconsin Office of Children's Mental Health. Held at the Madison Monona Terrace, NHS students Emma Reddick, Vera Reiter, Sofia Seager, Declan Epley, Cecilia Garcia, Jazzy Tanner, Reece Sarauer, and Cayleigh Perry experienced an interactive day that sparked connection, and reflection as to what Wisconsin schools and individuals can do to decrease the stigma around Mental health. As the event hoisted over fifty schools, MAP and Sources members learned the impact and intent of schools when challenging Mental health and suicide prevention. Not only could students
recount their schools success in Mental Health awareness promotion, but they were given the ability to learn about what they can continue to do in the future, along with reshaping actions to maintain and provide comfortable school environments for all.

Thank you to our advisors, Mrs. Haller and Dr. Altekruse, for so generously volunteering their time to be in attendance, and provide transportation for the students that attended. 😊

Also, Special shout out to Cayleigh, who very generously hand-made our posters for this event!

MAP presentations have now concluded for the year. With our group of nearly two hundred students, we have reached over 1,000 students promoting Mental health awareness-- that is something to be proud of! That however, is not an excuse to stop efforts to decrease stigma. Even the smallest actions can make a difference to those who feel alone, and those actions don't go unnoticed!🙌

Keep being amazing, welcoming, and kind, Rockets!🚀
