$🇺🇸 At 44, the sportsman maintains the equestrian passion of his grandfather, Texan oil magnate and Palm Springs tournament organiser Gen. Arthur A. Cameron, alongside that of his grandmother, actress Kay Aldridge. Away from the media spotlight, Cameron III practises on his own grounds with peers. Selling this asset aligns with a clear strategy: relocating full-time to his 377-acre estate further north, which is already equipped for high-goal polo. The site's origins date back to 1978, when his father, Artie Cameron II, acquired 28 acres on Padaro Lane for US$ 1 million and locked them in a trust. The current 4.21-acre fraction, "Rancho Cariñoso", features nearly an acre of coastal frontage and a 2,500-square-foot house built in 2014. It affords absolute privacy compared to saturated markets such as Malibu, sitting just minutes from the Rosewood Miramar and the airport, with views spanning the Santa Ynez Mountains and the Channel Islands. Its valuation is underpinned by an exclusive enclave where properties average US$ 33 million. It borders Kevin Costner's 10-acre plot, unsuccessfully marketed for US$ 60 million in 2017 due to a lack of beachfront access, and shares the stretch with George Lucas, Kourtney Kardashian, Travis Barker, Mila Kunis, and Ashton Kutcher. Adjacent to the site, Ellen DeGeneres' property was sold for US$ 96 million to Robert Friedland, realising a substantial profit after its US$ 70 million acquisition. The price trajectory reflects the volatility of the ultra-prime property market: initially listed at US$ 100 million in 2021, it rose to US$ 109 million for its ‘sentimental value’, entering the top 20. After adjusting to US$ 70 million in September 2024 and then to US$ 48,975,000, it has been brought to auction. Managed by Concierge Auctions, bidding runs from 3 to 17 September without a reserve price. Opening bids are projected to start at US$ 20 million on a strict 'as is' basis. Barron Hilton, representing the estate agency Compass, summarised the offering: “Where else can you ride horses directly onto the beach, anchor a yacht offshore, surf a private break, and retreat on 4 oceanfront acres? It is an extraordinary opportunity."$
