I’ve seen #MIMT (Man… I Miss Track) pop up here and there on social media. Now… I love our sport and absolutely love coaching track and field. BUT, some of my most cherished memories of the sport come from the times away from the track and competitions. Just us, being us (BYW… I think we really like food!). In fact, I can’t imagine someone not wanting to be a part of “being us.” 🤷🏻‍♂️

Love you guys! 💙💛 Is it spring yet? Man… I Miss Track!

Here’s some of my favorite “us being us” pictures over the years.

Since 2022 (Which coincides with the building of our current facility), 10 EBHS Bulldogs Track and Field athletes have made their way onto collegiate track and field rosters. Many others were recruited and shown interest, but went another route. The BIG question now is… WHO’S NEXT? #NoLimits 💙💛

UPDATED: East Buchanan High School Track & Field School Records.

We had four school records set during the 2026 season.

Senior Brooklynn Johnson bettered her existing shot put record and earned her second consecutive State Title in that event. She also set a new mark in the discus after flirting with the record over the last three seasons.

Speaking of discus, Baker Thomas set a new school record in that event for the boys and also became the first EBHS boys discus thrower to medal at State for two consecutive years since Rob Wolfe (who did it three consecutive years) in 1987-1989.

The fourth and final record goes to pole vaulter Reece Dixon. Dixon bettered his own record from a year ago by a half-foot and qualified for State for the second consecutive season. Reece significantly helped reestablish East Buchanan’s pole vault program that was dormant for numerous seasons until revived in 2022 with the building of our current track and field facility.

Speaking of 2022 and our recently constructed track and field facility... there are 38 possible school records in track and field when you combine the girls and boys... since 2022, East Buchanan track and field athletes have set 17 new school records (11-Boys, 6-Girls)!

signing off with the class of ’26: @omahatfxc athlete and elementary education major Emma Klein is making one final jump before graduating and beginning her career as a first-grade teacher.

after crossing the commencement stage in next week’s morning ceremony, the standout athlete in jumping will compete one last time as a Maverick at a meet that afternoon.

then she’ll head into her first year in the classroom. and in true track athlete fashion, she already knows one of her first lessons: showing her students how to line up.
