Today was the Annual Sickle Cell 5K/ One Mile here in Tallahassee❤️.

My friends were able to participate and help not only spread awareness but help the Sickle Cell Foundation here in Tallahassee gain more funding. This is an event that happens every year and if you want to keep track on how to stay connected with the sickle cell community follow @sicklecellleon for constant updates on events❤️.

Forever and constantly grateful for the support around me and blessed that the Lord has a community here for me to never feel alone when going through hardships that Sickle Cell has been putting me through! Get plugged into your local Sickle Cell Foundation and see how you can help/ spread awareness. 🥰

4 years ago I started writing my first book. A collection of poetry. I felt led to share the thoughts that we have but never want to say. Not only that but the thoughts that people have about us that they never think to say. The first half deals with that darkness that we try to hide. While the second half shows that there is more good that people see in us than the bad we think about ourselves. I hope this book makes you feel seen and brings light to the darkness.
