Who you might upset. Who might judge you. Who might not agree.

Be a little selfish. Say no without guilt. Change your mind. Raise your standards. Do more of what makes YOU happy.

And ask yourself…

Are you living the life you actually want, or the life you’ve built around everyone else’s expectations?

The right people will celebrate you choosing yourself. The wrong ones might have something to say.

Life will throw some absolute 💩 at you. That’s inevitable.

But there’s a lesson in almost everything we go through, if we’re willing to look for it.

Instead of asking “Why is this happening to me?” start asking yourself:

What is this teaching me?
What could I have done differently?
What do I know now that I didn’t know before?
How can I use this experience to become wiser, stronger and more resilient?

And sometimes the lesson is simply learning what you’ll never tolerate again.

Reflection is where the growth happens. Not in the experience itself, but in what you choose to take from it.

The goal isn’t to get through life without setbacks. It’s to stop going through the same ones without learning anything.

Because the shit you’ve been through should teach you something, not become the thing that defines you. ❤️

2026. What a strange little year you’ve been. 😂🐎

I think a lot of us went into this year expecting expansion, momentum, abundance… all the exciting stuff from the Year of the Horse 🙄🙄

Instead, it feels like it handed us a mirror. 😂

And maybe that was the point.

Because how much of what we call a “difficult year” is actually just life forcing us to look at the things we’ve been avoiding?

The boundaries we know we need to set.
The things we keep saying yes to when we want to say no. The situations we’ve outgrown. The version of ourselves that still needs everyone to be happy with us.

What are you still tolerating because changing it feels harder?

What are you trying to control that might actually feel better to release?

Where are you saying yes when you really mean no?

And probably the biggest one…

What is costing you your peace?

I definitely don’t have everything figured out. But I think I’ve realised that growth doesn’t always look like more.

Sometimes it’s less noise.
Less proving.
Less reacting.
Less explaining yourself.
Less worrying about what everyone else thinks.

Maybe abundance isn’t always about what you gain. Maybe sometimes it’s about what you finally stop carrying. 🤍

Happy 60th Birthday to one of the most special humans in my life ❤️

Where do I even start with @ruksher…

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, she is quite literally the living, breathing Mother Teresa 😂❤️ The purest heart, not an ounce of ego, unbelievably kind, loyal, honest and someone who genuinely wants the best for every person around her.

Over the years, we’ve been through the highs, the lows, the stressful days, the brilliant days, lots of lessons, lots of growth and definitely a LOT of phone calls 😂 And somewhere along the way, you became so much more than someone I work with.

You became family. A second mum, a friend, a mentor and someone I trust and love enormously.

One of the things I admire most about you is the way you lead. You never need to make someone else feel small to make yourself feel important. You lift people. You give people opportunities. You believe in people. And after more than 40 years in this industry, you still care so deeply about your team, your clients and the people around you. That says everything about who you are.

I feel incredibly lucky to have you in my life and so grateful for everything you’ve taught me, trusted me with and supported me through.

60 years of Ruksher Malik ❤️ and what an impact you’ve made on so many people.

I hope today you realise just how loved, appreciated and special you are.

“This is just who I am” - this mindset makes me so sad……… 🥺

Someone asked me the other day - what changed in me that made me decide that what I had wasn’t all I could have….

And I’ve been thinking about it ever since.

Because the truth is, I don’t think there was one moment.

I’ve just always had this belief that if I really want something, why can’t I have it?

Why can’t I build the career?
Why can’t I earn the big money?
Why can’t I create the life?
Why can’t I completely change my circumstances?

Why not me? And why not you?

Seven years ago, I had nothing….

And there was absolutely no part of me that believed that was where my story ended.

I knew I would build myself back up. I didn’t know exactly how. I didn’t have some perfect master plan. I just knew that nobody was going to stop me from creating a different life.

And when I want something, I don’t tend to stop until I’ve found a way to make it happen.

That doesn’t mean everything has been easy. Far from it.

It means I’ve never allowed where I am today to dictate where I’m capable of being tomorrow.

And I think THAT is the bit I want to understand more.

Why do some people look at their circumstances and see a fact, while others look at exactly the same thing and see a starting point?

There’s something in this that I want to build a proper framework around, because I genuinely believe it can change lives.

Your current life is not proof of what you’re capable of.

It’s just where you are right now.

So if there’s something you really want, maybe stop asking yourself whether you can.

Start asking…

Why the hell can’t I? 💪🏻❤️

I genuinely believe some of the best things about me were built during some of the worst times of my life.

Not when everything was easy. Not when everything was going my way.

The confidence, the resilience, the independence, the ability to figure shit out when it all goes wrong… none of that came from an easy life.

And I think we forget that when we look at other people.

We see someone successful and think they’re lucky. We see someone confident and assume they’ve always been that way. We see someone strong and forget that something probably made them have to become strong.

Life is going to throw shit at you. Some of it you’ll cause yourself. Some of it you absolutely won’t deserve.

But eventually, what happens next becomes your responsibility.

You can stay angry. Stay stuck. Blame your past. Blame someone else. Keep telling yourself why you can’t.

Or you can decide what you’re going to do with it.

You get ONE life.

And I refuse to spend mine waiting for somebody else, or something else, to change it for me.

Hard times will come. Let them build you!! ❤️

For years, I’ve lived by to do lists.

More tasks. More goals. More boxes to tick.

But recently I’ve realised something. The life I’m trying to build isn’t created by what I do.
It’s created by who I choose to be. This hasn’t come from a place of having it all figured out. In fact, it’s come from one of the hardest periods of my life.

I’ve realised that when I stop being intentional about who I am, everything else starts to feel harder. I lose my peace. My focus drifts. My work feels heavier.

It’s reminded me why I’m so passionate about alignment before strategy. Because no strategy can compensate for a life that feels out of alignment.

This isn’t a list of achievements. It’s a list of identities. Peaceful. Purposeful. Aligned. Disciplined. Present. Creative.

Because if I become those things consistently, the actions take care of themselves.

I’ve spent so much of my life believing I’d become the person I wanted to be after I achieved the goal. Now I see it differently. The goal isn’t what changes us.

Who we choose to be each day changes everything.

This To Be List isn’t just something I’ve created. It’s something I need.

It’s the reminder I come back to every morning because it keeps me connected to the person I want to be, as a mum, a leader, a friend, and simply as me.

My hope is that it encourages you to stop thinking about your next goal for a moment and instead ask yourself…

Who do I want to be?
Not what do I want to achieve.
Not what do I want to own.
Who do I want to become, and how do I want to show up for myself and the people around me every single day?

The Goal vs The Reality.

My lovely friend @carlboustany did a post today about “the baseline” and “the standard” and it really touched me.

I’ve realised I’ve soooo dropped the baseline for ME over the last few months. Not work, not the kids, me. The full version of myself I want for me.

The walks, the learning, the routines, getting outside, moving my body, protecting my peace, all the things that keep me feeling balanced and aligned.

Instead it’s been anxiety like I’ve never experienced, overwhelm, procrastination, self doubt, questioning everything and spending far too much time in my own head, mental health yak.

But do you know what? That’s ok.

Life happens. We all fall off track. We all have seasons where we’re surviving more than thriving.

The important thing is being aware of it.
Awareness creates change.

So for me, this isn’t about another to do list.
Less To Do Lists. More To Be Lists! ❤️

Sending love to everyone out there fighting the silent battles, showing up every day and trying their best, even when nobody sees it ❤️
