Just watched Suffs the musical and wow — it was so powerful! 💜 I learned so much about the women who fought so hard for the right to vote. Feeling inspired and grateful for their courage 💪✨ And the best part — we got to see our Annie crew again! So happy to be together 💕 #SuffsTheMusical #GirlPower #AnnieFamily #HistoryInspires

Thank you for lending me Ida B. Wells Barbie @emmyegee!!! 🥹😍🙌🏾

I love that they use the Memphis Free Speech paper. Their headquarters were destroyed after Ida B Wells, co owner and editor of the paper, wrote an article unveiling the truth about the lynching of her friends in 1892. A white grocery store owner was jealous of the success of a nearby black owned grocery in a mixed neighborhood called The Curve. Black store owners Will Stewart, Tommie Moss, and Calvin McDowell were jailed for trumped up charges and later murdered by a white mob. After writing the article, Ida received threats and ultimately had to flee Memphis.

Her holding this paper of course doesn’t make up for that horrific experience or the loss of innocent lives but it sure means that someone at @barbie was intentional enough to honor her and those men, and educate generations to come. Her efforts continue to come back to her and her legacy lives on. I’m so proud to be some part of that.

The SUFFS National Tour is officially open! It is an absolute honor to be working with these GABs again on such a powerful show. We've come a long way from Hooverville and Whoville.

I never take enough pictures, but I'm going to work on that this season.
