What if your psycho-emotional-spiritual struggles are not signs of a disorder BUT mirrors of a deeper, inherited story?

Well based on my customized textbook, "Psychology Through Our Eyes: A Culturally Inclusive Introduction to Psychology" and many years of clinical work from a relational psychoanalytic perspective, I have created,

"The Black-Centered & Decolonial Psychodynamic Paradigm (BCPP)™"

This paradigm repositions the psyche as a racialized and colonized terrain, shaped not only by individual experience but by ancestral memory, cultural inheritance, and the enduring imprints of colonial violence. It challenges eurocentric models that isolate pathology within the individual by illuminating how identity, suffering, and meaning are co-constructed through collective, historical, and spiritual realities. This framework invites Black and minoritized individuals to understand themselves not as disordered, but as deeply contextual beings navigating intergenerational wounds and wisdom, opening pathways toward liberation that are relational, culturally grounded, and spiritually integrative.

And here are 2 Healing Strategies to assist us in healing the impacts of racialized wounds on our psyche:
1. Engage in ancestral attunement practices (e.g., guided reflection, altar work, or lineage mapping) to reinterpret emotional patterns as intergenerational communications rather than individual deficits, restoring dignity and continuity of self.
2. Practice cultural witnessing and metaphysical re-authoring, where you consciously reframe negative psycho-racial internal narratives through affirmations, spiritual grounding, and relational dialogue that centers your identity beyond colonial definitions of worth and being.

ASE!

Note:
This framework is derived from Dr. O’Shan D. Gadsden’s original model featured in Psychology Through Our Eyes: A Culturally Inclusive Introduction to Psychology.
