When I came back as a junior after two years away, it meant that most of my friends that I had begun Emory with had already graduated and left. I also had to contend with my first two years being at Oxford, then going to the military, and then returning to an entirely new campus. It’s difficult. It's an entirely new environment and even though I matured during the last two years, it's a pretty big adjustment.
But now I'm starting to feel more settled. I feel more relaxed instead of being nervous all the time. And I think it's because of the people. Knowing more people and creating relationships is what helps you feel more settled. It's not really the classes, it's people."

It makes me sure not to squander their efforts and influences me to do good and make an impact. It kind of gives you this feeling of "Oh crap, I gotta give back!" But in a good way."
