Did you know there’s a café in Austin that is creating inclusive employment opportunities for adults with Down syndrome?

I stopped by @empoweredcafeatx for some coffee ☕️ and a breakfast taco and loved the friendly atmosphere and faces. They’re right in the Mueller area so if you’re in the area, stop by and support this wonderful project!

Empowered Café has great coffee, genuine joy, and meaningful employment for adults with Down syndrome.

Stumbled on this place on Friday after a dr. appt and was shocked to find it empty while Merit Coffee (half a block away) was full. I ordered a vanilla cold brew that was some of the best I’ve ever had. If you’re in the neighborhood, you have to support.

This is where business and passion collide. Being able to give back to a cause that I’ve dedicated my career makes me have all the feels. And if you’d have told me this new little mahj business would be recognized alongside some really big names, well, let’s just say I’m humbled. Here’s to raising money for Down Syndrome and to the power of people sitting around a table with tiles 🀄️

The perfect Mueller morning starts with coffee that gives back. ☕️❤️
If you’re looking for a fun way to spend a morning in Austin, here’s your itinerary:

Start at @empoweredcafeatx , where every cup of coffee supports a mission to create meaningful employment opportunities for adults with Down syndrome. It’s the kind of place that reminds you how impactful supporting local businesses can be.

Then take a short walk over to @lillaandbeth to browse one of my favorite boutiques in Mueller. From stylish clothing and jewelry to home décor and unique gifts, it’s the perfect place to treat yourself, or find something for someone else.

This is why I love exploring Austin. There are so many places with incredible stories behind them, and Mueller is full of businesses that make it easy to shop local while supporting the community.

Have you been to either of these spots? Or what’s another Mueller favorite I should check out next? 👇
