The generational impact that we get to witness around here simply cannot be overstated.

It’s unbelievable in many ways, yet we’ve had a front row seat everyday for the past fifteen years so in many respects it’s become quite believable actually, but nothing we will ever take for granted.

What a delight; what a privilege; what a joy!!!

“What has been done can be undone.” - Dr. Karyn Purvis

PS: Now that was an epic game of kickball.

Looking for more books to add to your collection?

I’m honored to see One Day at a Time as part of Amazon’s “Customers who bought this item also bought…” list, pointing readers to other meaningful stories about foster care, adoption, belonging, family, and love.

I’ve personally read many of these books and am deeply thankful for a growing library that helps children and families feel seen, loved, cared for, and equipped…one story at a time.

One of the keys to breaking generational trauma is through educating yourself: how can you heal? How can you change your parenting strategies? How can you gain empathy and understanding for your child during their most difficult moments?
Being able to respond appropriately and/or apologizing when we mess up is essential for forming healthy attachments with children. Then they will have the best chance at navigating life as adults feeling whole, loved, confident, and secure enough to face all that life throws at them.
