This post is a bit different for me. It's a few portraits. I wanted to highlight some of the people in my life and people who are showing my friends and I support in our various adventures. These are good people who believe in each other. They want to see the people around them succeed. They want the lives of the people around them to improve. We are all cheering each other on and supporting each other within our own means.

Putting on even a well planned event is a stressful endevour of organized chaos. So, getting this all together in just a couple of days is just a testimate to all those awesome folks who supported the event, skated the ramp, or just came to hang out.

There was some day drinkin', some backyard grillin', normal ol' chillin', and of course skatin'. It turned into exactly what I had hoped. A backyard full of people enjoying themselves and each other's company. It was an event that allowed everyone to enjoy it in their own way. It was a day to boost the spirits of a few people who I know are down. It was a day to put some cash in the pockets of some talented skaters. A day to gain memories for all involved.

When @samioasaurusrex first started building the ramp, we had big ideas on pictures, events, and new tricks. We were coming up with themes, names and puns. It wasn't long before we landed on the U.S.S. Sambassador and a whole ship theme.

I did everything I could to help get the ramp finished. It was astonishing to see how much progress Sam would make, even when alone. When it became apparent this ramp was going to need to move, with a list of other issues to deal with, I suggested the safe option. The ramp wasn't finished, tear it down and finish it at the new spot.

Sam didn't want to see all of those ideas and plans just evaporate, so he broke his back to get a top layer on there. At least one good enough for a serious day. I did what any friend would do, given the circumstances..... I enabled him. I only helped get a little of that top layer done, but I knew what my true job would be. I needed to get this skate jam poppin' off, but we only had about 3 days to do it all in. This was my first skate event, just aiming to give Sam a good time in a tough situation. I didn't know how successful we would be in throwing a Jam, but I knew we would have some fun with friends at the very least.

It was also a bit of a test to see how running one would go. I could not have gotten this rolling without the incredible support by the whole @paperhousemagazine crew, with a special thanks to @shay_shreds and @seatslurpy. @homeskateshop shared the event and put eyes on it that would have never known about our little backyard slam. Thank you so much. @chrisgibsontattoos_ @austinsmith220 and @makeartnotwarr all came with boards as prizes. It just made the day even better. A shout out to LittleStank for being a great kid and helping with everything.
