Week 1 of our Wagon Wheel quilt pattern sew along!

It’s a thrill seeing folks’ fabric pulls for the #wagonwheelsal24! I love seeing the coloring sheet being used (via computer and by hand), and where the inspiration comes from — including super hero’s and art, or a stash of favorite fabrics. 🙌🏻

Some folks are using the pattern from my second book Modern Quilts, Traditional Inspiration, too! And getting kitty-approved fabrics. 😽 It’s all good.

Home again and slowly trying to reacclimate back into the fray of everyday, reflecting on the joy, creative freedom, affirmation, and community that was lush at quilt camp during the #SlowStitchingRetreat last week. I’m so grateful to have joined Sam @agatheringofstitches Denyse @dsquilts Kristin @scramblesquilts and Katherine @katherinemferrier with an amazing group of creative souls for a week of much needed creative community connection.💕

Here are some photos from the final gathering Friday night, a display of just a few of the amazing creations stitched with love during our time there. The #ADifferentStripeQuilt s guided by the incomparable Denyse Schmidt @dsquilts , the delightfully bright and surprisingly geometric substrates dyed naturally by indigo, madder, and weld with the instruction of Kristin Arzt @scramblesquilts , and the meticulously hand stitched #PollenPillowEPP creations made with me played so beautifully together, exhibiting the intention, skill, and heart of every maker. This is real. This. Is. Real. I'm holding onto this, and folding it into everyday life, beginning with a baby indigo plant I lovingly (and hopefully) tucked into my garden yesterday. To all my fellow slow stitchers--I miss you already! Until our paths cross again, stitch with love.💕

Reflecting on the last 6 days of color, community, and camp🌈 I am home now, exhausted but also completely recharged. I am so grateful to @agatheringofstitches for having me, and to the folks who safely gathered during this wild time, open and ready to learn, give, receive, inspire and join together. Sending you all love❤️‍🔥 time to rest, and then finish up production jobs, wholesale orders, a commission, and oh yeah, plan a wedding, because we’re getting married in less than 2 weeks 🤸‍♀️🤪🙃 #slowstitching #slowstitchingretreat #planthatwedding

I am blown away by all of the beautiful finished (and almost finished) Glam Clam Quilts! You all basically rocked it! I just can’t pick favorites so I had the trusty Random Number Generator do it for me. Laid out my blocks from the #cornerstarsswap and got them in the order I think I want for my #cornerstarsquilt by @hillside.stitches . First project on my just assembled block board made from an old display rack that folds so I can store it easily, and Frankenstein batting that I've cut off of other projects.
