🌿 We’re so excited to be part of International Day of Birmingham 2026! 🩵💛🩷 @internationaldayofbirmingham

And we’re bringing a little piece of Brum’s botanical history with us…

🌱 Step into the story of our giant waterlily! The giant waterlily has been part of Brum’s botanical story since the 1850s. Now, you can become part of it too 🪷 📸

Come and see our botanical takeover in the Council House: Glass Corridor! 🌺🌿🌼🌴🎨📸

Get involved:

📸 Explore a new interactive artwork by local illustrator @ems_illo where you can literally step into a modern day reenactment of a 1910 historic photograph (with a Brummie twist!)

🌿 See a real giant waterlily leaf up close (it’s more thorny than you might think!)

📖 Discover the Brummie 175 year old story behind this extraordinary plant

🌸 Explore and relax in the lush botanical display of indoor plants

🌺 Learn more about our Glasshouses (the home of the waterlily) our restoration future plans and how you can get involved!

What better way to celebrate being one of the UK’s only official Nature cities?! Birmingham is Botanical!🍀😍

📍Council House, Glass Corridor
(aka The House That Brum Built!)
Thursday 24th and 25th September 2026

💜Come along, get involved, and take a seat on a piece of Birmingham’s botanical history! 🪷 📸

We love an impromptu sketch meet up, especially if it involves a Castle! 🏰

A few of us got together after a suggestion by @marcus.c.douglas to sketch @tamworthcastleandgrounds

We used sketchbooks, loose papers, pens, watercolours, neocolours, Kuratake Zig pens, iPads and more!

🍺 In the afternoon we stopped by @tamworthbrewingco
for a well deserved drink and snack. It has another great view of the Castle tower from the garden.

It was such a wholesome day, we'll be doing it again.
We're thinking about sketching Lichfield next.

Still got post-VSF blues from the weekend. Had the sickest time chilling with a bunch of likeminded creative, nerdy, artistic people. And got to watch the 🐐 @tekkenknee put on a clinic.

Big up the legend @22spacehead for the amazing exhibition too, massively grateful to have had a small part in it 🙏

Fighting games are the best. Can’t wait for next year!
