...and home before dark!

This post is fifty million years late but Into The Woods is probably the most fun a person can have ever. Through this production I got to meet and work with so many wonderful people and reaffirm to myself that yes, I love performing, and I love the feeling of standing on stage with others and creating something beautiful and meaningful! I think there is something special about the bonds that are forged through standing on stage together that can't be replicated anywhere else or by any other means.

At the beginning of the program I had been sick for a month and couldn't sing at all; I was seriously concerned about my future as a vocalist because of it and was thoroughly despondent. But I was supported by so many people, staff and participants alike, who were patient with me and accepted me, and thankfully I was able to get better in time and stand confidently on stage. Despite all my troubles, I truly felt that I had caught a glimpse of paradise.

Thank you also to everyone who came to see and support the show, as always it means everything to me 🩷

i think i will wear mauve to the next ball what do you think

words cannot begin to express how grateful i am for opportunity to play one of my dream roles with so many of my favorite people, while being directed and coached by the most amazing and caring faculty. this show means so much to me, and being in this production made me understand the themes and lessons tenfold. thank you @alexpaulsheerin for believing in me to do this role helping me become the performer i am today. and thank you to my second mother @jennifergrimalditoohey for pushing me and encouraging me every step of the way, even when i was drained every which way. and to my cast… my god what a pleasure it was to work with you all i love you all SO big forever 💓

getting to play the baker’s wife this summer was the ultimate privilege. i got to work with the most talented musicians from across the country along with the most supportive, creative staff. this was my first time back in a role on the stage since my senior year of high school. the baker’s wife has taught me about flexibility, perseverance, and finding family in unexpected places. shes given me a newfound trust in myself.

thank you to our genius director alex paul sheerin for putting this entire production together in such a short time span. thank you to abril and lily for keeping us organized throughout the entire process. thank you to zach, abhay, and jana for helping us find our show’s sound in this beast of a show. finally, a million thank yous to my beautiful voice teacher/mom/therapist @jennifergrimalditoohey for believing in me and making me believe in myself. i wouldnt be where i am without you❤️❤️

Words can’t really describe what it means to direct this show. I was four years old when my dad turned on the PBS Into the Woods Great performances for me. And I genuinely believe that’s why I’m where I am today. To do this show with these two wonderful young casts, my amazing assistant director, the greatest music team, in my home hall, was just the perfect way to do this show. Into the woods in two weeks with every day objects and some vines is possible!! Stage Director - Alex Paul Sheerin
Assistant Director - Abril Valbuena (@abril.valbuena )
Music Director - Zachary Anderson (@zach.anderson_ )
Conductor - Jana Ballard

qsvi 2026 ♥️

i am so grateful to have been a participant this year. in these 18 days i learned so much about myself and found my confidence in singing and that is all thanks to the amazing teachers at QSVI. throughout my time in undergrad i started to losing the love i had for singing but by day 3 of qsvi my love for singing came back and my eyes opened to what the life of singing could be for me. a special thank you to Dr. Overholt, Alex Paul Sheerin, Abril Valbuena, Ron Land, Mark Schnaible, Jen Grimaldi Toohey, and many many more.

qsvi also brought so many amazingly talented friends that i learn from and admire. thank you to everyone who made this program so memorable ♥️
