18 days til @runningmanfest 🎉

After an amazing peak week ending Sunday, I started this week with my foot getting attacked by a wooden, toothpick like object. A story for another time. Anyway, it was throbbing last night and not so great this morning but by the afternoon the pain had dissipated so I went out and tested it. Pretty sure my roomy @altrarunning shoes helped. So grateful I felt good enough to get today’s run in tonight! FYI Coach @endurafitsatx !

Hey guys, I did it! ~50 miles on the PCT. ~11 hours of work, wonder, and learning.

I think I’m still processing this day, the days leading up to it, and the days after.

I know what I should be talking about on this page is the technical stuff. How I did my nutrition calculations, grams of this, miligrams of that, timing, execution vs. reality, etc. and I may share some of that in the coming days, but I’d rather talk about something else right now:

Human kindness. Cheesy I know but I don’t care.

The immense wave of support that came from all of my people during this whole thing has me a little speechless. I think more people reached out to me about this 50 miler than on my birthday. I carried that energy through every mile, and when shit got hard, it helped me push through.

On the actual day, I had all the support and smiles and positive words that I could dream of for an endeavor like this. My coach Athena was there, with all her wisdom, quiet strength, and good energy. My dear pal Carly flew all the way to Oregon to wake up at 3:30am and put in a solid 14+ hour day of work crewing me like a champ. She put me first even though she was hungry, sunburned, and tired. Every person I met on the trail was cool and kind and encouraging. We shared stories and talked about stupid stuff and ran in silence and took in the beauty.

The race directors @gotodd and @go_renee were there at the finishline shaking the hands of every single finisher. It was so special.

So ya, I ate carbs and drank electrolytes and had a lot of pickles and watermelon. But most of my nourishment came from you guys. My family, friends, clients, strangers on the trail, and the volunteers and team that made doing something very f*ing hard, a little bit easier.
