Chick-fil—A Mt Pleasant reached out to us this week to ask how they could help #liftthestigma on suicide. It is so encouraging to live and work in a community that wants to work together, and wants to change the narrative on suicide and mental health issues.
Not only did they provide this donation bucket for us to raffle at the meet, but they are also feeding all of the workers on Saturday.
A community that comes together for a cause like this is a community that can grow, heal, and be a leader in the change that is much needed where mental health is concerned.
Thank you @cfamptx for your incredible donation, and your commitment to the community.

The bid is now $500 from Kellye Cooper.

The opening bid is in for the @koewetzelmusic autographed guitar. Remember, you can bid by texting me at 9035638337, but you must be prepared to pay within 1 hour of the close of the meet August 2nd.
I will pin this post and update as the bid changes. If the bidding goes over $1,000 I will ship it at my expense- any less than that and the buyer pays shipping.
All proceeds go to the @afspntx to help lift the stigma on suicide.

Thank you to RDO customs and @mp_animalclinic for sponsoring 2 of our overall lifter awards, and thank you to all who have signed up to lift at the 6th Annual @lifting_the_stigma powerlifting meet. 1 lift at a time, 1 conversation at a time, we will change the way suicide and mental health are talked about.

In May of this year Stephanie Fears reached out to us wanting to have a vendor table at the 6th Annual Lifting the Stigma for @mercy_manor - the non profit that she started in Longview.
In June of this year her life took a turn when she was in a car accident with her husband Tracey and her son @bradenlfears
Stephanie is still in the hospital in Houston, but the team at Mercy Manor is continuing the mission of the organization, and continuing with Stephanie’s vision of having a table, and supporting @lifting_the_stigma
Mercy Manor exists to provide a safe and loving environment for individuals facing crisis pregnancy by offering positive solutions through resources and local professionals to meet physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
We want to thank them for their support, and thank them for the work they do for the East Texas area.

I picked up the medals for the 6th Annual @lifting_the_stigma powerlifting meet today, and love how they turned out. Thank you again to Mario Valle for paying for the medals for this year’s meet.

This meet is a year in the planning - we have already started making lists for next year actually. But picking up the medals today makes it real - we are just over a week out and it is time for the finishing touches.
Thank you to all of our sponsors, vendors, and lifters - together we will #liftthestigma on suicide and mental health issues.

You can’t win if you don’t sign up - right? Crossovers are still available to purchase up to the start of the first flight, and 100% of the crossover fee will go directly to suicide prevention efforts through the @afspntx
But more than that, we want to say thank you to each and everyone that has signed up, and everyone that has made these awards possible. You can choose to spend your money anywhere, yet you choose to help us raise money for suicide prevention. You can choose to lift with any federation, yet you trust us.

These awards are made possible by so many individuals and so many companies, and we try to thank them all and show them all as much love as we can. But today, we thank you, the lifter. Thank you for spending your time, money, and energy (physical and emotional) helping us #liftthestigma on suicide and mental health issues.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
Donnie and Jodie

@dyla.nwalls is back for his third @lifting_the_stigma powerlifting meet. After competing in high school powerlifting the last 4 years, Dylan is preparing for his first year of college powerlifting at SFA.
Always a pleasure to be around, Dylan brings a very positive, can do attitude to the platform and will be the first to help out a fellow lifter and encourage them in any way that he can. It is exactly that type of attitude that will lead us to being able to #liftthestigma on suicide - the idea and attitude that we are all stronger together.
Let’s welcome Dylan back to the platform, and thank him for continuing to support our efforts to change the way mental health and suicide are talked about.

Today's first confirmed lifter post is just a little bit different. As a former professional softball player in the Netherlands, Anna Westberry is no stranger to big platforms, but she is new to the powerlifting platform. As the powerlifting coach at Redwater ISD Anna decided it is time to step on the platform, and has chosen the 6th Annual @lifting_the_stigma powerlifting meet benefiting the @afspntx
Anna did not have a picture of her lifting, so instead submitted a video. They say the first squat is for the judges, and this one looks like she is not leaving anything to chance on depth.
As the list of powerlifting coaches competing at this meet grows, so does the reach of the message. Together we can #liftthestigma on suicide and mental health issues.

Thanks to the @dallasstars we are ready to announce our first silent auction item for the 6th Annual @lifting_the_stigma powerlifting meet. Of all the professional sports teams I reached out to, the Stars were the first to say “absolutely” when we asked for help with this meet.
The signed puck will be set up on the raffle table at the meet August 1-2, and the winner needs to be available to pay on the 2nd (cash, check, Venmo, cashapp).
This is truly a meet and a cause that takes all of us, and we truly want to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts to the Dallas Stars.
