Digger (2026) | dir. alejandro g. iñarritu

directed by alejandro g. iñárritu and starring tom cruise, digger is a satirical black comedy following a powerful oil tycoon desperately trying to position himself as humanity’s savior before the environmental catastrophe he helped create spirals out of control. the film also stars riz ahmed, john goodman and jesse plemons, exploring themes of corporate greed, power and humanity’s own self-destruction.

@spinnyyyyyyyy - “wow. incredible movie. on the edge of your seat the entire time, waiting to know what happened. middle was confusing but the end brought it all together. tom cruise had an amazing performance aswell, and the deeper meaning behind the movie is fire. everyone should see this before the year ends!” 4/5 ⭐

@enhom_ - “f*ck the fourth wall, this movie blew my head off. absolutely incredible. gorgeous movie. all of the small details are so good, movie of the year for me.” 5/5 ⭐

@sxlacookitup - “genius. what a creative and entertaining way to tell this story. the statement this film is trying to make may seem overdone but trust me, the way its told here is sooooo good. the acting performances were amazing and memorable. i’m still thinking about the set designs and the last 10 minutes of the film. i’ll def rewatch this.” 4/5 ⭐

BUDDY (2026) | dir. casper kelly

a horror-comedy about a group of children trapped inside a seemingly cheerful 1990s-style kids’ tv show, where a friendly-looking orange unicorn host gradually reveals a sinister and violent side. they must uncover the truth behind the show and find a way to escape.

@enhom - “okay, the visuals were okay. like the set design and the lo-fi aesthetic was cool until it was legit the only thing that was keeping me focused. besides the cinematography, everything else was garbage. the story, cast, acting, writing, was all legit terrible. i genuinely can’t believe i spent my money to watch this.” 1.5/5 ⭐ (letterboxd: enhom)

@sxlacookitup - “conceptually, this is exactly the type of movie i SHOULD like. however, it falls short in almost every aspect. they get one star for the visuals and one star for the concept. this feels like it could’ve been a cool youtube short film but they instead, they decided to stretch it to a feature length film and everything gets diluted because of that.” 2/5 ⭐ (letterboxd: sxlawatchitup)

@spinnyyyyyyyy - “this was definitely a movie. visuals were lowkey cool but everything else was not interesting at all :/. couple funny moments. lot of horror slop” 2/5 ⭐ (letterboxd: whosthatttguy)

THE VIEWING ROOM 🎥

Midnight Cowboy (1969)

directed by John Schlesinger, we follow Joe Buck: a wide-eyed hustler from Texas hoping to score big with wealthy New York City women. there, he finds a companion in Enrico “Ratso” Rizzo, an ailing swindler with a bum leg and a quixotic fantasy of escaping to Florida.

@spinnyyyyyy - “interesting movie. ending was cool. dustin hoffman acted his ass off in this too. super underrated actor. joe buck character was cool too, id watch again in the future.” 3.5/5 ⭐️

@sxlacookitup - “at its core, this movie is just a character study exploring themes of loneliness, expectations vs. reality, the american dream, and human connection through the eyes of a hyper-masculine 60s cowboy. it was super effective, beautifully shot, & had some really cool sequences. they took “show, don’t tell” SERIOUS with this one! i definitely would rewatch it again.” 3.5/5 ⭐️

@enhom_ - “really couldnt predict anything that was gonna happen in this movie. dustin hoffmans performance in this film is surreal, blood sweat and tears into his character. such a wild story. i just wish this movie had better storylines.” - 3/5 ⭐️

THE VIEWING ROOM 🎥

Insomnia (2002)

directed by Christopher Nolan, a seasoned detective is dispatched to a remote Alaskan town to solve the murder of a teenage girl. as he zeroes in on the prime suspect, the investigation turns into a chilling battle of wits. drawn into an intense game of manipulation and pursuit, the detective finds his grip on reality beginning to unravel.

@enhom_ - “the setting in this movie was beautiful. story was thrilling and creepy, not gonna lie it had me on the edge of my seat some scenes. never thought id see robin williams playing such a good antagonist, he definitely gets one of the best performances as well as hilary swank, both played very well. al pacinos character was so silly, why couldn’t he just buy a sleeping mask or something lmao. loved the ending to this movie, super poetic.” 3.5/5 ⭐

@trustnoeastend - “it was an okay movie. very anti climatic, the characters had no depth and i wanted to see robin williams shine. the plot was going somewhere and i feel like they could’ve twisted it but chose to be predictable instead just like most action movies. it’s a casual watch, don’t expect it to be deep. @spinnyyyyyyyy glazes any movie with an italian in it.” 3/5 ⭐

@spinnyyyyyyyy - “amazing movie. super underrated in nolan’s category. robin williams is an amazing actor aswell. @trustnoeastend ‘s ratings are horrible, nobody trust them. fun watch & i’d watch it again over & over. plot twist was hella cool too” 4.5/5 ⭐

@sxlacookitup - “a christopher nolan directed cat & mouse crime thriller starring robin williams (rip) & al pacino set in a place where the sun never sets? yes please! i went into this with semi high expectations & was definitely satisfied. it doesn’t really feel “iconic” enough to be a 4 or 5, but its a veryyy solid 3.5.” 3.5/5 ⭐

Fallen Angels (1995)

directed by Wong Kar-wai, this Hong Kong-set crime drama follows the lives of a detached hitman hoping to get out of the business, his elusive female partner, and a mute ex-convict as their romantic & professional lives intertwine & influence each other.

@sxlacookitup - “some of the best cinematography i’ve seen in a while. i’ll be thinking about these visuals for a minute. soundtrack & score was amazing too but plot was a bit too loose for my liking.” 3/5⭐

@enhom_ - “i really enjoyed the cinematography, the field vision was awesome. i wasn’t a huge fan of the story telling.” 3/5⭐

@spinnyyyyy - “cinematography amazing, story was lowkey leading to nothing, expected way more!” 3.5/5⭐
