This month, I’m especially proud to celebrate our incredible team of diagnostic medical sonographers at Scripps Perinatology. Their clinical expertise, compassion, curiosity, and commitment to excellence are reflected in the care they provide every day.

A special recognition to our clinical preceptors (📸 2). As we begin Cohort 5 of our Perinatology Sonographer Transition Program, I’m reminded that developing the next generation of MFM sonographers takes more than a curriculum. It takes dedicated clinicians willing to teach, mentor, challenge, encourage, and share the knowledge that comes from experience.

Their investment in our newest sonographers helps build confident, thoughtful, and highly skilled MFM professionals and strengthens our team for the future.

I’m equally grateful for the leaders who recognize the value of our sonographers, support their professional growth, and continue to advocate for the advancement of our profession.

It is a privilege to lead education alongside this group and to witness what can be accomplished when education, mentorship, and leadership come together.

Celebrating the sonographers caring for our patients today, the preceptors shaping those of tomorrow, and the leaders who continue to move our profession forward. 🫶🏼✨

Story time! 📚

I started leading trips when I was 19 (it’s a long story but it involves rattlesnakes, Montana, and Lewis & Clark).

I led trips all over the world: Africa, New Zealand, Alaska, Guatemala, Canada, Belize. I got my yoga teacher training and started leading yoga retreats.

I was a late bloomer surfer at the age of 31 and ALWAYS wanted to lead a surf retreat but I had imposter syndrome in a very saturated market.

I always believed group travel could be life changing. You never know who you’ll meet, the connections you’ll make, the perspectives that will shift for you, and the growth that will occur.

I knew my strengths were: empowering others, creating an accepting and inclusive environment, and curating a vibe (for my Gen Z’ers).

Thanks to help & collaboration with amazing women @courtneynmarsh @lila_in_the_sky @sandyeggosurf @ariellekatz8 Neptuna Terra was born, we led 10 sold-out clinics and we led our first overwhelmingly successful retreat.

Our next retreat has 2 spots open and we are partnering with @reyannemustafa @theshadowmentawai & the coaches of @dreamsurflivin to provide a trip like no other guided by the spirit of: ocean safety, inclusion and progression.

If you’ve ever been curious about the Mentawais and want to go with a supportive and mindful group, DM or comment “ments” and we’ll see if the trip is right for you.
