The individual possesses almost nothing, each life is fragile and finite, yet carries within the same stuff as the Universe. The Universe contains everything, yet lacks what the individual has: a life capable of experiencing all it has to offer.

This is SPACE IS A MIRROR, a poetry duet reflecting on the human’s place in the Universe. When one looks up toward the cosmos and recognizes the infinite within, the cosmos returns the gaze and finds something it can never possess…

The original idea for this collaboration all stems from the concept that “space is a mirror.” Each one of us is made up of the same stuff that makes the Universe. I looked up toward that diamond night sky and saw a reflection. We are each a small fragment of the universe experiencing itself. A marvelous manifestation.

Matt was very kind to participate in this wacky idea of taking on the POV of the universe gazing back. We look up at the stars and see infinity, living our lives attempting to understand it all. What do the cosmos see when it returns our gaze?

A mildly jealous answer from the Universe to the creature fortunate enough to feel it. Seeing itself reflected in her, infinity divides into mortal life, reaching for the one thing beyond its grasp

Some poems start with a marshmallow and sneak into less innocent places. Sometimes a conversation with a new acquaintance (@entertheinterval ) bleeds into a memory.

And sometimes we can catch it just in time. 🔥
