Our sangi and my and Moha’s Sangu Mashi!

Still in disbelief that you’re no more with us….its been 6 days now and we are back to our lives in Ahmedabad. Still have a hope, that I’ll get out of my room and mom will be talking to you and Raju mama on video call and I’ll be randomly peaking and asking how are you guys doing!

Just left with your memories, laughter, a small banter where you say “Aree…hu Kau chu ne”, podi masala, my favourite home made dahi, your love, your voice, our mutual love for quality clothing, good perfumes, food, and endless things which probably won’t come to my head right now.

Just one regret of spending more time with you will always stay deep inside our hearts…that one remaining planned trip to Ahmedabad and Goa will always linger.

Functions, get togethers, Nandanvan, group video calls, our family conversations will be not the same without you. There will always be a void, and we will miss you and cherish you for the rest of our lives, until we meet next time.

You were an angel here, and surely looking at us from above and smiling because you loved your family to stand by each other through thick and thin.

That’s what we are going to do Sangu Mashi.
Love and love always

Two lights from Baroda High School, Bagikhana, gone too soon.
Some people are not just part of your memories. They are part of your growing up. Hina and Sangeeta were exactly that for me.

I knew them long before titles, roles, or the formalities of life gave us ways to describe who we were to each other. We shared the same neighbourhood, the same small world of Bagikhana. They were simply always there, the way the most important things in a childhood are — present, familiar, and taken for granted in the most innocent way, because you never imagine a world without them.

Hina was a force. Bold, frank, and unapologetically herself, she walked into every room like she belonged there — because she did. She had the kind of leadership that wasn’t appointed or announced; it was simply felt. She said what others only thought, stood where others hesitated, and somehow made you feel braver just by being near her. She made the world around her more alive.

Sangeeta was a different kind of strength. Soft-spoken and graceful, she carried a quiet elegance that stayed with you long after she left the room. She didn’t need to be the loudest voice to be heard. Her presence was gentle, but it was certain — and those who truly knew her understood that her softness was never weakness. It was a rare kind of grace.

Two completely contradictory personalities. And yet, best friends. Forever.

Admiration is too small a word for what you feel toward people who are woven into your earliest years. They were part of the texture of my childhood. Part of the backdrop of every memory from those days, that time in life that shapes everything that comes after.

To lose them — both of them, one after the other — is to lose a piece of that world. They had so much still ahead. So many years they deserved to live.

But I am grateful — deeply, quietly grateful — that my life was long enough alongside theirs to hold so many memories.

Rest in peace, Hina.
Rest in peace, Sangeeta.
You were part of where I came from. You will always be part of who I am🌸
