POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

25 reviews. A number that may look impressive on an image, yet to us, it means something altogether more profound.

Because behind every review is a person who has given our novel something that cannot be bought: time, attention, thought and feeling.

At some point, we had to let Against the Dark Tide go, rather like a ship leaving the safety of harbour for open water. And from that moment on, a story no longer belongs solely to those who wrote it. A small part of it belongs to everyone willing to make the voyage with it. Perhaps that is one of the quiet miracles of writing.

We put words upon a page, but it is only within another person that they truly come alive again. There, they encounter memories, experiences, wounds, hopes, and sometimes truths we ourselves never knew were hidden between the lines.

That is why these 25 reviews mean so much more to us than stars, reach, or a number beneath a book.

They are 25 encounters with our story.
25 voices.
25 perspectives.
25 people who cared enough to give something of themselves in return.

For that, we simply want to say thank you. Thank you for your time. Thank you for reading with open minds and open hearts. Thank you for your praise, but equally for your thoughtful and critical words.

And above all, thank you for giving our novel a stage upon which to find its own voice.

A book may begin with its authors. But its true voyage begins with its readers.

With all our gratitude,

Dirk & Tobias

A great review from an amazing loyal reader!! “The Maidservant in Cabin Number One” by Chrysteen Braun.
The Guest Book Trilogy, Book 4 or Prequel to The Guest Book Trilogy My Review-
⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I loved each book of the trilogy of Annie Parker and a set of idyllic cabins in Lake Arrowhead, California. At the end of Book 3, it was so exciting to learn that the author planned a prequel, an earlier history of the cabins, a history that is Ruth Ann Landry’s story to tell. Her tale, a heart-wrenching narrative that spans from 1918 to 1959, is a testament to the indomitable spirit and resilience of a woman navigating circumstances beyond her control.
It is easily read as a stand-alone but all the more meaningful as the trilogy has evolved into a series. The cabins in Lake Arrowhead are not merely a setting but are integral to the storytelling. At the end of the well-written novel, I encourage readers to enjoy “Interesting Notes, or in other words, going down the proverbial rabbit hole when I’m (Chrysteen Braun) doing research!” It shares historical notes of locations in the novel, the creative license used for the timing of some events, and inspiration from the history of other events that take place during the span of the storyline. This blend of history and creativity immerses the reader in the period and with the reader hopeful for the best possible outcome for all who find their way to the cabins.

𝓛𝓪𝓼𝓽 𝓷𝓲𝓰𝓱𝓽 𝓘 𝓽𝓻𝓲𝓮𝓭 𝓽𝓸 𝓴𝓲𝓵𝓵 𝓶𝔂 𝓱𝓾𝓼𝓫𝓪𝓷𝓭. 𝓐𝓷𝓭 𝓘 𝓯𝓪𝓲𝓵𝓮𝓭...

'Heart of the Summer Queen' is the second and final book of the 'Winterspell' series written by @hollyrosebooks. @hollyrosebooks thank you for sending me this as an eARC in exchange of an honest review. So lets dive into it 🌹.

I loved 'Bride of the Winter King', it was my favorite book of 2022, so I had high expectations for its sequel. And guys this book did deliver!!!!

We meet the characters right after the events that took place at the end of the first book. This means that we as readers are able to experience the aftermath of the event. I'm very glad that these actions are not downplayed or over dramatized through the story. This makes the story more believable.

We also learn a lot more about Elaric's background. Together with Adara we start to understand him better, feel a little bit sorry for him and ultimately fall head over heels for him 😍😍.

This book holds the same energy as the first one and is just as funny. Especially, I enjoyed the banter between Adara and Elaric. Pure entertainment.

Overall, I have to admit, I think I love this book even more than the first one. I didn't think that that would be possible but I believe it is. A great ending to an amazing series.

Heart of the Summer Queen is out now!!!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Out of 5 (if I could give more I would)

It's a fascinating read that combines life lessons with golfing wisdom in Deepak Mehra's "Think Like a Golfer, Win Like a Golfer.". By following Harry as he pursues professional achievement and entrepreneurship, the book deftly draws links between golf and leading an extraordinary life.

It is novel for the author to use a golf course as a symbol for self-discovery. Each chapter examines a different aspect of professional and personal development based on seven valuable life lessons from the game.

In his compelling portrayal of the game, the author shares timeless wisdom, fascinating stories, and engrossing anecdotes. The book will appeal to golf enthusiasts of any skill level.

Exciting review from @enthusiastic.reader
““The Starlet in Cabin Number Seven” by Chrysteen Braun.
The Guest Book Trilogy, Book 3
Release Date: September 7, 2023
My Review-
5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Annie Parker is intrigued learning that her newest design client, Hudson Fisher, is the son of the Roaring ‘20s Hollywood starlet, Celeste Williams. Thankfully, Sam has kept the old guest books, and the entry that Annie locates leads to a family secret that surprises everyone. As Annie is never one to sit still, she’s delighted that Sarah, a friend since childhood, has finally accepted her invitation to visit.

The story is told from 3 POVs, Annie, Hudson, and Sarah. I enjoyed the multiple perspectives and the clarity of each narrative by chapter presentation and font format. As the secrets of the cabins have come to light, there are fascinating pieces of history tucked into the storyline. Favorites during Cabin Seven’s reveal are interesting highlights of stamps, the U.S. Forest Service, stories of dogwood trees, John Muir, and The Blackstone Hotel and Marshall Field and Company in Chicago. Socks and Jezebel’s feline pawprints are not as frequent on the pages of Book 3, but their companionship and cuddle time add sweetness when they appear.

I’ve loved the beautiful pen and ink drawings included in each book. In Book 3, drawings include The Cabins, Hudson and Constance’s Living Room and Family Room, and Celeste’s Duesenberg. The “Author’s Note” is a combination of her inspiration, acknowledgments, news of upcoming novels, movies filmed at Lake Arrowhead, and a list of favorite places to visit in Lake Arrowhead.
