Like seriously my face the past three weeks... 😳 Last week, I totally forgot it was my 2-year anniversary of the day I picked up keys to my practice. At the same time, @modaesthetics completed our reality web series Ground Up which documented my journey of starting @entierederm Never in a million years would I imagine that we would be here two years later. The first week we "closed," I, like many other small business owners, faced the reality of zero/minimal revenue for an unknown extended period of time. I grieved, stressed, and was faced with the worst decisions any business owner confronts. Like other service-/healthcare- industries, operating a cosmetic/medical dermatology practice has incredibly high costs/overhead. Three weeks ago, I said to my team, 'This is the time to be creative. This is the time to collaborate with our colleagues and partners because we are all in the same boat - we need to work together to reignite and protect our patients. This is the time to be strong, vulnerable, and compassionate - that creates a meaningful change." First order of business, patients - always first. I focused on not just creating a workflow for telemed but delivering the same level of care and service our patients deserve and staying connected via new digital events. Second item - the team. We debriefed regularly-not just about the work. It was more about checking in - explaining what I understood as a physician, how to navigate a scary and real public health crisis while being at the center of it in NYC. We had heart to heart talks - sometimes sad, sometimes scary, sometimes funny, usually all. It was about coming up with a plan that made the most sense for my business - protecting the survival but thinking of each one of my employees and doing what was best/fair for them. Third order - Focus on the parts of your business that needed work and were neglected. For me, as a physician owner, I naturally (as I should!) focus on patient care and the work flow surrounding that. But, there is more to your business than that. Tonight I speak to @brittany.lo CEO of @beautini about how she’s guiding engaged couples through this unknown time and how to still support and be excited for their upcoming wedding. I take care of so many engaged couples and mothers/fathers of the bride/groom to prepare for their special day. With the coronavirus outbreak, I keep thinking of all our engaged couples we take care of. It’s actually one of my favorite parts of being a dermatologist and being part of such a special time in their lives. My wedding was such a dream. We celebrated on an island in Thailand and our friends around the world from Asia to Israel to Africa to America to Australia got down with us. I only want the same for everyone else. I hope this IG Live provides comfort and calm to all our engaged couples during this time. #love #wedding

Today was a brave new day of day 1000 of quarantine (JK it’s day 3) for two digitally challenged YOUNG people figuring out InstaLive. Yeah, I didn’t realize the filters were on... 🤷🏻‍♀️ One of my jobs... making my team laugh. Follow and go to @entierederm to catch our daily digital events. • Happiness 😊 This is really about #prioritizing to #findthejoy #joyproject everyday. Make a list of 📝 your daily responsibilities pertaining to work, family and #metime. Cross out all the things that you don’t love to do and find a way to #outsource them or modify them so you can spend your time doing the things your truly love 💕 and spending the time with people who matter the most! #family

It’s time to come together as a coordinated and collective action to protect our community. Entière Dermatology is temporarily closed for patients starting March 17th. During such a difficult and unknown period of time, I am reminded look forward to new beginnings soon. In the meantime, we have entered Entière Spring Evolution as our team works to take skin health digital and coming up with TeleDerm options so you can join and be cared for from the comfort of your home but still stay a part our Entiere community with digital programs and virtual Q&As! Our team has entered a brave new world - Working From Home which dermatology practices rarely, if ever, have done.
