COLLISION Series, Ping! Shelf, Bang! Shelf by Enze Wu @enzewudesign Enze’s COLLISION series explores the beauty of imperfection through handcrafted steel shelving that acts as both artefact and stage. Inspired by the raw energy of impact, each piece embraces tension — between elegance and distortion, stability and imbalance — offering a platform to honour treasured objects. The forms echo a quiet collision: tubular steel frames support floating planes, blending structure with subtle asymmetry. These surfaces cradle personal belongings while inviting reflection on the traces we leave behind. Stemming from Enze’s research into global aesthetics of imperfection — from Chinese scholar rocks to Japanese wabi-sabi — the series speaks to today’s growing appreciation for authentic, emotionally resonant design. By merging craftsmanship with concept, COLLISION transforms functional furniture into sculptural vessels of memory. #centralsaintmartins #design #designer #ual #london #csm #postgrad #funituredesign #sculpture #artobject #sustainabledesign #designermaker #interactive #materialresearch #sculptural #designprocess #handmade #sustainabledesign #artprocess #designstudio #contemporaryart #designinspiration #craftsmanship #CSM25

“Go for it, Chelsea is the place where you can show everyone your creative ideas, no matter how crazy. All the staff are fully supportive and offer professional advice that help you progress as an Artist / Designer.” - Enze Wu #MadeatChelsea Meet BA Product and Furniture Design student Enze Wu and their project Tangram Flatpack Furniture inspired by Post-Modernism and Modular Design. “My project Tangram Flatpack Furniture is a response to the Climate Emergency, for this project I was inspired by the Tangram puzzle, which offers 7 different shapes that come together in a square. I took this as an inspiration for my project to minimise material wasted through the cutting process. Through a material testing perspective, I tried to make and manipulate materials and made models with wood, Epoxy resin glass casting. I worked particularly close with a BA Interior Design student who helped create an interior space with my furniture pieces.” Follow: @enzemakes Interested in BA Product and Furniture Design?
