@kolonihagenfrogner @annkatsol @myinteriorbubble @veronicasonsteby @enzofinger #fotokunst #janneckesanne#kunstfoto #artforsale #artwork

Bruno Oldani’s Thinking Room (art with a) Purpose Oslo April 15–30, 2023 Opening Today Bruno Oldani (1936–2021) was one of Norway’s most influential graphic designers. Born, raised and educated in Zürich, but settled in Oslo since 1958, with his own graphic design studio running from 1965 until his passing in 2021. With the typical Swiss discipline as a base, he developed a way of communicating through collage and assemblage of familiar objects. Like so many other artists and designers he was a collector. Tin cans, matchboxes, toys, signs, folk art and forks (he nicked them from restaurants). Stuff that doesn’t necessarily has a lot of value alone, but becomes interesting when organized and seen as a whole. He kept this collection on display in a storage room in the basement of his studio, but it wasn’t a space open for everyone. You had to work there or be invited in. He called it his thinking room, or even his mausoleum. It was a chamber of inspiration and an important part of his visual reference gallery. It’s not difficult to identify objects from the thinking room appearing in his work. Parts of this collection is now showing in (art with a) Purpose. Exhibition curator Peder Bernhardt.
