Life lately has been full in the best way. A lot of miles. A lot of travel. A lot of really good people. A lot of moments that remind me how lucky I am to do work that brings together community, purpose, and something so much bigger than any one of us. The last few weeks have taken me from rides and events to conversations with researchers, partners, friends, and people who continue to show up in incredible ways for one shared goal. And somehow, we’re already coming to the end of our 17th Pelotonia season. Next up: Gravel Day. Gravel Day also means fundraising for Pelotonia 2026 is coming to a close. If you’ve been thinking about making a gift, this is your sign. Any amount makes a difference. Every single dollar we raise together can help accelerate discoveries, fuel lifesaving research, and bring better treatments to patients everywhere. Make an impact. Donate today. One Goal💚

August is Augustus. Renamed from a number when Rome invented a title to honor their emperor. Now, the month born from an impulse to honor encourages me to do the same. 62 running miles, a few less than usual. 380,605 pounds moved, literally a few tons more (thanks Doc). 52 weeks of new @beli_eats stops, including my first Ube Latte. After hundreds of dollars and dozens of hours, I’ve harvested my first $2 tomato of the season. That thing I started in January, mentioned again in March, and have thought about every single day this year is finally live. Fifty years summarized into 90 seconds. Like Heinz, worth the wait. Funny how a year of effort arrives without fanfare, sandwiched between the evening news and an insurance commercial. One special number kept showing up. M/I Homes turned 50. My parents’ union hit 50 too. Half a century behind, a lifetime ahead. I didn’t plan the rhyme of work and home, but I sure felt it resonate. Fifty years of choosing the same person, the same mission, day after ordinary day fused into gold. In an age of short attention spans, that kind of staying power is beautifully stubborn. @Pelotonia rode past my house. I stood at the end of my driveway sipping coffee, waving at the parade for people I’ll never meet. Later, I opened my backyard to our online sales team. Meditation around the pond, a game of telephone on the lawn, and a plethora of good vibes. Grown professionals untangling themselves while laughing uncontrollably. All different techniques of celebrating people. Always baking more sourdough. One for me, one for mom. Ran 15% of a friend’s 100k, moral support for an incredible feat by an incredible guy. Took a sound bath at work and got reminded the power of “for now.” Kicked off a new Game Time for my friends. Sometimes, instead of cat cuddles, you gotta clean their goopy eye. Both count as love. I don’t celebrate easily or often enough. August dragged my introverted and pessimistic self to the party. Elation is worth honoring precisely because it passes. “Blüh im Glanze dieses Glückes” (bloom in the radiance of this fortune). Because nothing blooms forever. So congratulations, August. I’m proud of this one.

Starting at 6 pm on Friday night my dear friend, @eolsavsky and friends took off for an epic adventure for good. If you aren't lucky enough to know Eric, let me share a little. First and foremost he's a wonderful husband to Sarah and father to his 3 amazing kids. He is also a badass athlete completing many Ironman events. Lastly, he is VP of community engagement and partnerships at @pelotonia Something I’ve learned from working in the nonprofit space is that it’s pretty special to see an employee who truly believes fundraising is part of their job, not just someone else’s responsibility....not the Olsavsky crew. 💚 This year alone, Eric is pushing to raise $12,000 for the cause!!😳 that's a lot of work! To add a layer of commitment he decided to host a backyard style ultra event, running 2.55 miles every hour on the hour for 24 hours to support his fundraising efforts. I'm just dumb ... I mean impressed, enough to join the fun! It was hot and humid, rainy, and loooong, but it was also so beautiful to see so many friends, family, and Pelotonia employees showing their support. We may have been the only two wild enough to run all 24 hours (71+ miles) but we were never alone. I'm so proud to call him friend and I invite you to consider supporting his efforts. Any size donations help fuel their mission for a cancer free world. https://my.pelotonia.org/profile/EO0031
