POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Yesterday, I shared my frustration with certain magicians who, in my opinion, are doing a disservice to the art of magic. In a world where clicks, likes, and viral moments seem to matter more than the magic itself, it’s sometimes hard to watch something I love so deeply be represented so poorly.

But a very smart magician (I won’t say who it was … okay, it was John Reid) gave me some advice that really stuck with me

Instead of wasting energy trying to change the people who are bringing magic down, spend that energy celebrating the people who are lifting it up. And he was absolutely right.

So today, I’m starting what I hope will be a series of posts recognizing magicians who remind me why I fell in love with this art in the first place.

And I can’t think of a better person to start with than Rachel Wax

I’ve watched Rachel work tirelessly for years. Nothing was handed to Rachel. Every opportunity, every accomplishment, every step forward was EARNED. Not through shortcuts. Not through chasing clicks on social. But through the kind of passion, discipline, and respect for the art that I wish every magician could have.

Rachel represents something incredibly important: You don’t have to compromise your art to find success. You can succeed BECAUSE of your commitment to it.

She is an inspiration to young magicians and someone we can ALL learn from.

Magic deserves people like Rachel Wax. And Rachel deserves to be celebrated. She is the kind of magic I want to see more of.
