#FlashbackFriday The morning of Sept. 11, 2001, I was in my Ridgefield Park, NJ home - a stone's throw from Manhattan. Sleeping in that morning, I was 20 minutes, with no congested traffic, from the destructive scene that resulted from terrorists hijacking four airplanes and crashing into the World Trade Center in New York City --- as well as the Pentagon and near Shanksville, Penn., resulting in 2,996 deaths. My friend; editor; and fellow New York Association of Black Journalists (NYABJ)/ (NABJ) National Association of Black Journalists member Celeste Victora is included in that number. More than a STAT, she was an INSPIRING, SUPPOTIVE, and JOYFUL WOMAN - single mother of a teen daughter. With all that THE WORLD became days after with Covid-19 lockdown, it's hard to retain that it was February 22 THIS YEAR when author, restaurateur and lifestyle maven B. SMITH passed away.
