Every year, like clockwork, you can bet everyone in this community makes the mandatory dad joke level correlation between @wildturkey and turkey day, aka, Thanksgiving. So here we are. I actually do have wild turkeys in my neighborhood, so take that.

another year has gone by and I’m extremely grateful for everything I have in my life including this wild community of people from all walks of life who will, when given a dram of whiskey, sit there and talk for 30 minutes about what they’re tasting and experiencing. I hope you all know how crazy we look to anyone outside of this community. 😂

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I just knew too much....does that make me crazy?

When I saw these start to disappear off the shelves, I grabbed as many as I could at RETAIL retail. At that price, despite what these newbies will tell you, it's a simple, uncomplicated, and delicious pour.

Now, at the $200 price tag I've seen in some stores... and the bundles, it's a hard pass.

How ya doing on this Blanton's Monday? (Prob not a thing? 🤷‍♂️)

I get the game. I do. Liquor stores go through hoops to access the good, scratch that, the allocated stuff. I've heard numerous stories where in order to get one or two bottles of something , a store needs to buy cases on cases of cash cows - usually shit vodka. I get it. And with the increase in demand for allocated bourbon regardless of it being good or not, some distilleries are playing with inventory and some stores, not all, are resorting to these ridiculous bundles. In addition, I am seeing stores laughing at the face of the consumer for buying these bundles. Personally, I think it's pretty grotesque and disappointing. Unfortunately, sometimes, if you want to get these allocated bottles you have to bite the bullet and buy the bundle. I don't have all the answers, and admittedly, I don't claim to have all the questions either. However, I do know that I do not like feeling that I'm being taken advantage of.

I will continue to support stores that that treat their customers with respect and don't play these games. I will, from time to time, succumb to the ridiculousness in order to get a bottle I really want. But when the fad is gone and everyone moves to mezcal or whatever the next cool thing is, folks like me will still be here and we will remember the stores that treated us right.

I get it. I understand the game. I do. But with all due respect, fuck bundles.
