Our team would like to extend a huge thank you to officer of 3 years Kaiya Welch! Kaiya has been a team captain for the past 2 years and ran our social media her first year. She has been showing with the team for all 4 years now in Hunt Seat Equitation and Western Horsemanship! She is a valuable member of our team and we couldn’t do what we do without her! Thank you Kaiya!

Hi! I’m Gwen, and I recently graduated Oregon State University with a BS in Animal Sciences with an equine emphasis. Riding for Oregon State in IHSA the last three years gave me the ability to meet some of the coolest, smartest, and supportive people in the sport, and gave me friends that extend beyond my college career. I loved being the team Dad, and I’ll cherish all the memories both in and out of the saddle. Despite interesting hotels, car troubles, unintentionally long dinners, port-a potty car keys, late night homework submissions and reservation fails (oops), everyone would never fail to roll with the punches. Thank you everyone for giving me the opportunity to be apart of such a cool team and region. Don’t forget to enjoy the moment, even the questionable ones; they make for great stories later.

This is 517, signing off 🧡

IHSA Western Semi-Finals 2023🧡🖤
I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to pick up a new discipline the past 4 years, and finishing my senior season by placing top 25 nationally in the largest western IHSA division is still unreal to me. I am forever grateful to all the horses and people that helped me get here, and for making the trip to Florida so fun!❤️

I’m so incredibly proud of all my teammates for qualifying for nationals, I cannot wait to watch them kill it in Kentucky! Go beavs!! 🧡🖤

Second IHSA show in the books✅
Had so so much fun at the UW/WWU! Rode Otis (placed 5th) and may or may not have accidentally cantered in the class, but learned a lot from that experience. Then rode the cutest appy Cherry and had a blast (placed 1st)! Spent way too much time conducting interviews, and had a ton of fun with my team
