What a fantastic few days at @decorex _international 2026! A huge thank you to everybody who visited our stand. We loved sharing all the details, from our Painted Range mural by @melissawickhampaints to our cosy bar-turned-speakeasy, with a very exciting surprise, thanks to the amazing team at @equippd. Hidden behind @janerikadesign’s bespoke artwork was an original 1920s gramophone, revealed by a lift mechanism developed by @futureautomation and adapted by @equippd. Along with cleverly designed lighting by @johncullenlighting and @modelighting’s dimming system, the atmosphere could be transformed – all at the flick of our classic @forbesandlomax dolly switch. We’re so grateful to all our collaborators for their time, generosity and creativity. We couldn’t have done it without you! Over the next few days, we’ll be taking a closer look at the products and collaborations that made @decorex_international 2026 so special. @colefaxandfowler @collierwebb @equippd @futureautomation @janerikadesign @johncullenlighting @julianchichesterltd @loomfurniture @melissawickhampaints @millerharris @modelighting @mylands_london @pbeardesign @rugudio @turnstyledesigns @umbraswansea @vaughandesigns @warwickfabricsuk

A few highlights from our visit to Decorex, where there’s as much to discover in the conversations as there is on the stands. The show opened on Sunday at Olympia London, bringing together furniture, lighting, textiles and decorative craft. It’s a chance to catch up with familiar faces, meet new makers and see the work behind the collections. For us, those exchanges are part of the pleasure of visiting. Hearing how a piece was developed, what materials were used and discussing what can be made bespoke brings another dimension to sourcing. You leave with ideas, but also with people to turn to when the right project comes along. A special mention to Claudia Dorsch Interiors for ‘The Chalet Reimagined’ VIP lounge. It had the enveloping warmth of a mountain retreat, with enough character and detail to keep us looking long after we’d sat down. A wonderful example of what thoughtful design and collaboration can bring to a space. Swipe through for The House Directory’s highlights and stay to the end for a peek inside the lounge. There’s still time to visit before the doors close on Wednesday. Go with a project in mind or simply a curious eye. 📍 Olympia London | 11 to 14 October Sunday to Tuesday: 10am to 6pm Wednesday: 10am to 5pm #Decorex #TheHouseDirectory #InteriorDesign #Craftsmanship

Can you spot the technology? In our latest edition, Charlie McCourt, co-founder of @equippd, explains why integrated audio, lighting, climate and control systems should support architecture, not compete with it. From a Grade I-listed Palladian house in Cornwall to a Georgian townhouse in Mayfair and Bramble House in Chelsea, the feature explores how early coordination can make sophisticated technology all but disappear.
