What happens to a horse when it’s time for a new home?

As grooms, we know a horse’s personality, needs, and daily routines better than most. That knowledge can make a real difference when it’s time for a new career, retirement, or rehoming.

Join us for a FREE webinar with Dr. Karin Bump, Chief Operating Officer of the EQUUS Foundation, to learn how grooms can help horses find a safe and suitable future.

We’ll cover rehoming options, how to recognize trustworthy organizations, what questions to ask, and how your experience can help guide decisions.

⭐ COME MEET PUMPKIN! ⭐

We have a very special guest joining us at Community Day this Saturday!

Meet Pumpkin, an incredible 18.1-hand Belgian whose story is all about second chances, purpose, and transformation. After being rescued by Senior Investigator Mary Elena Moran of the New York State Police, Pumpkin began a remarkable new chapter and has since worked with mounted police, veterans, nursing home residents, and more.

In 2026, Pumpkin was inducted into the EQUUS Foundation Horse Stars Hall of Fame in recognition of the impact he has made.

Mary Elena has spent more than two decades professionally training horses, with a special focus on police horse training and the rehabilitation of rescued horses. Through her Superhero Rescue Horses program, she helps transform at-risk horses into ambassadors with new careers in police work, therapy, and service.

Come meet Mary Elena + Pumpkin and hear more of their incredible story at Community Day!

We are incredibly proud to be chosen as a 2026 EQUUS Foundation grant recipient! 🐴💙

As the nation’s sole animal welfare organization entirely devoted to protecting horses and fostering the human-equine bond, the EQUUS Foundation is making a massive difference for horses nationwide.

For South Florida SPCA, this grant directly funds the hands-on care, medical treatment, and rehabilitation our rescued horses need to heal and find loving homes.

A heartfelt thank you to the @equusfoundation for standing alongside us and believing in our mission. Together, we’re changing lives—one rescue at a time! ✨

We are honored to be a 2026 grant recipient of the @equusfoundation! 🐴💙

The EQUUS Foundation is the only national animal welfare organization in the United States 100% dedicated to protecting America’s horses and strengthening the bond between horses and people.

Southern Reins has proudly held the EQUUS Foundation Guardian Seal of Transparency since 2018, and this year, we are especially grateful for the Foundation’s continued investment in our mission as we enter our first year as an EQUUS Foundation Mentor.

Thank you, EQUUS Foundation, for your continued support and for helping us change lives through the healing power of horses. From our herd to yours! #EQUUSFoundation #SouthernReins #Grateful

Retired Raisin and his Merry men. These are our amazing therapy miniature horses. Army, Navy, Mayday and Sargent Pepper. They will be in NYC tomorrow supporting our first responders and remembering. They offer calm, regulation and a moment of peace.

Its so amazing how in Raisen's retirement he has taken over looking out for these 4 amazing rescued horses turned human caregiver. It's an honor to watch.
