Springtime faves from my 35th May🌷 A little something bubbled up so I decided to write it down (scroll to the last pic to see why): ——— As my 35th birthday approached, I felt pulled to reflect. In just a few years, life changed in every way — marriage, a cross-country move, buying a home, becoming a mom. Somewhere in the midst of it all, I started to feel untethered from myself, moving through life faster than I could process it, constantly trying to keep my head above water. I knew this needed to change and I wanted to do something to mark the moment… A few years ago, when my Bubbie passed away, she left me a beautiful gold and diamond bracelet — one of the only pieces that remained after most of her jewelry was stolen in a robbery. I rarely wore it, but I deeply wanted to carry her with me through this season of change. So I decided to transform it into a ring that felt more like me. But while designing it, I realized the meaning had grown beyond just honoring her. I would have been remiss if the design didn’t also include my Grandma and my mom. This ring became a tribute to the three women who shaped me, raised me, grounded me, and taught me who I am and what womanhood looks like. This ring now serves as a reminder of where I come from as I step into what’s next. Because while 35 is “just a number,” it feels like a real shift: less about holding onto youth, and more about becoming. And for the first time in a long time, I’m not lost. I’m right here. This spring has been full of family, friendship, travel, and core memories. I’m learning to slow down, pour back into myself, and appreciate how far I’ve come. Settling into a new town with my little family, building community, and reclaiming parts of myself along the way, I’m entering this next era with intention, gratitude, and a little help from the matriarchs whose shoulders I’ll always stand on. Happy Birthday to me 💐 Emerald - Bubbie (Beverley Alexis, May) Sapphire - Grandma (Dorothy Green, September) Tourmaline - Mom (Shelley Alexis, October)

It's been nearly two weeks since attending what I think is one of the greatest sporting events ever created...the 2023 #NCAATournement and it did not disappoint. I had the opportunity to witness my alma mater @uconnmbb beat so many talented teams and I got to do it with some of my closest friends (even ones I haven't seen in over a decade). Pics 1-6 show a glimpse of the countless alumni friends I got to hang out with Pic 7 is being up close and personal with India's national bird, the peacock...in a Houston backyard while hanging out with my #UMiami frenemies - I knew seeing this bird was a sign of good luck! Pic 8 is me leading the UConn chant while on national TV (okay, it's local to CT but whatever, close enough) Pic 9 is right after the buzzer sounds and @uconn cements its legacy as the greatest college basketball school in history (16 championships between men and women, 1st for women, 4th for men, with next best school 9 'ships away) Pic 10 solidifies this whole experience and acts as a promise to use #UCONNbasketball as an excuse to get together with long lost friends more often!
