FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9 @ TV EYE

TODAY IS THE DAY — Iconoclast Steve Austin returns to NYC from the woods of Maine to rock us with his eccentric and explosive art. Austin’s psych/noise/metal machine Today Is The Day has melted minds since the early 1990s and he continues to forge his own path.

BODY STUFF — Described by The Wire Magazine as “a hardcore Bruce Springsteen,” Body Stuff’s Curran Reynolds celebrates the release of his new album “BODY STUFF 5,” backed by a special all-star live band.

STATIQBLOOM — From Berlin, Statiqbloom mixes industrial darkness with banging techno. “The soundtrack to endless nights spent clubbing in a post-apocalyptic sewer.” (Bandcamp Daily)

FRKSE — Dystopian soundscapes. Organic-industrial clamor. Iron Lung Records.

On this day 19 years ago “Neck” hit the stage for the last time. This was a killer lineup with legends @visionofdisorder & @candiriatheband through 90’s hardcore/metal I have made so many life long friends. Would love to do it again sometime. I think Troy Young RIP played drums for Candiria on this date, and Johnny from @carbombofficial played bass for Neck. (Also Carbomb played two songs at the end of the Neck Set)

i’m resuming the archival series after a 3-year hiatus, starting with a standalone version of the ‘𝐏𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐌𝐀’ remixes (originally the second half of the digital release) - it’s NYOP for #bandcampfriday - i kind of wish i’d separated them from the main album upon initial release, but all the mixes were ready to go at that point (this would never happen nowadays) and ‘pharma’ had the potential of dropping as a total behemoth - and so we decided to package it as such - i would never think of axing the remixes from the original bandcamp page (some of you paid for those extra 16 tracks), nor would orange milk, but if you’re incredibly OCD or particular about how you file your digital releases, here’s your chance to split the double-album into two individual releases - nerdy shit aside, this is personally an excuse to a) remain thorough in the chronological nature of the ‘𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐀 𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐇’ series, and b) prepare for a sleazy new collection of goated reworks off a more recent project... 🍍

many of my favorite artists contributed to this release, musicians i’ve followed / idolized since i was a teenager (ken schalk of candiria, odd nosdam of cLOUDDEAD, brian of FSOL) - i’m still amazed at the lineup - it was one of those specific moment-in-time scenarios, a very 2017-coded roster that could never be replicated again - yes, these tracks were previously available, but maybe this will get some new ears on some eccentric reinterpretations from legends that i’ve looked up to for more than half of my time on this planet, and peers i’ve had the pleasure of releasing music alongside the past decade - indulge, and stay tuned.

"Fix The Error" by BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME @btbamofficial
🥁 Cover by Zasa

The comprehensive exams are finally over, and now it's time to celebrate Project Week! 🎉

I've been listening to this song since I was 8 years old (4 years ago), but only now do I feel ready to take on a full drum cover of it.

This solo is one of my all-time favorites. What makes it even crazier is that I had to study and learn the styles of four different drummers who performed it over the years. What a challenge... phewwww! 😅

Huge respect to:
Mike Portnoy: @mikeportnoy
Navene Koperweis: @navenekoperweis
Ken Schalk: @ergodrummer
Blake Richardson: @blakeyeatsteaky

Anyone Spot my Snakey jam? 🤘

I recently transcribed @ergodrummer performance on Temple of Sickness off The Process of Self Development. Still working on nailing the entire track… it’s quite the feat.

This take has imperfections, but I will get it to 100%… (300% ?)

My favorite band of all time deserves the effort.
@alex.tardio Let’s cover the whole tune together.
