<to be continued> #6 film without a camera

<to be continued> invites all film-making artists and enthusiasts to participate by giving and receiving feedback on unfinished film projects. In an intimate setting, the exchange of perspectives can feed back into your own and other’s ideas, projects and practices. We invited artists to submit unfinished projects that are made without a camera along with questions they wish to explore with you, the audience.

We selected two artists to share their work-in-progress: Erifili Doukeli and Beverly Lau. As a guest, we invited Anne Fehres to share her knowledge, experience and views on the presented works. To moderate the interaction between artists, guest and visitors, we look forward to having artist, filmmaker and tutor christopher tym.

The event is free to attend! Don’t forget to RSVP in advance to reserve your seat.

Cybernatural Synergy for @selin.magazine

Cybernatural’ is a blurred reality, an amalgamation between wild natural and futuristic cyber realms. ‘Synergy’ depicts an eventual, post-power struggle utopian symbiosis of both cyber and nature, a hopeful call to teamwork and a logical future of coexistence.

‘Cybernatural Synergy’ underscores the evolving dynamics between humans and technology. As the digital landscape continues to expand, it not only changes our relationship with the natural world but also shapes our identities and experiences. It is a realm where the boundaries between the real and the virtual, the organic and the synthetic, are increasingly blurred.

This fusion of realities raises thought-provoking questions about what it means to be human in a technologically mediated world. Does our entanglement with technology diminish our connection to nature, or does it offer a new way of engaging with the natural world? How does this synergy influence our understanding of self and society?

Furthermore, the images challenge us to consider how we can harness the power of technology to create a more harmonious balance with nature. The nature and cyber models encourages the audience to envision a future where technology and nature coexist, not in opposition, but in a state of mutual benefit and interdependence.

Ultimately, ‘Cybernatural Synergy’ is more than just a concept; it is a call to action. It beckons us to rethink our relationship with technology and nature, to explore new pathways of coexistence, and to embrace the possibilities of a future shaped by the synergy of the cyber and the natural.

Last night, I couldn’t sleep. I was emotional because I am finally sharing this album with the world. This album means everything to me. it represents my entire journey.

I’ve spent every single day of the last three years working on it, dreaming about it until I made it exactly the way I wanted. At times, It felts like I was reaching out into the unknown, feeling both delulu and hopelessly hopeful, despite the hurtfulness of the industry.

It’s like sharing recordings from my therapy sessions publicly. It’s my goodbye to London, to my dear and most loved uncle, to Covid, to my mental health , to past traumas that my body as a femininity has carried through years of mistreatment, to my past self, to the concept of health as I once knew it, which will never be the same, and to my 20s.
I’ve learned to trust others and love myself a little bit more each day, although I still have a lot of work to do.

This album represents my journey of healing, of meeting inspiring femmes and beautiful artists who have helped me grow as an artist, as a person, and as a friend.

I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with most of them and sharing precious moments.

It’s my journey of finding my strength through others, my journey to finding my own Femmeland.
