POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

It’s always special seeing our club alumni come back after their seasons to give back and help coach the next generation.

These are the same athletes our kids look up to—now they’re in the room leading, teaching, and connecting in ways that truly matter. There’s something powerful about that full-circle moment.

This is what community looks like. Once you’re part of it, you’re always welcome back.

Every champion has a story—and today, we’re celebrating another chapter in Royalty Wrestling Club’s history. Eva Bhattacharya and Eric Ruiz, two wrestlers who have poured sweat, passion, and countless hours of hard work into reaching an incredible milestone: qualifying for the CIF California State Tournament in Bakersfield.

For Eric, this isn’t just another tournament—it’s the next step in his pursuit to wrestle in college. His relentless work ethic and determination have made him the first ever two-time state qualifier in Menlo-Atherton HS Men’s Wrestling history. From starting his journey as a sophomore to now standing among the best in California, Eric is proof that commitment and grit can rewrite history.

For Eva, this is a moment of legacy. She became the first-ever CCS Masters champion in Saint Francis Women’s Wrestling program history, paving the way for future SF Lancers. She stepped on the mat with determination, knowing she was representing something bigger than herself, and she delivered.

Their journey doesn’t stop here. This Thursday, they step onto the biggest stage of their high school careers, with the goal of placing at state. But once their season wraps up, they’ll be right back in the club room, sharpening their skills and preparing for the next level.

Last night, we honored our two seniors, Matthew and Eric, for their dedication and growth on and off the mat.

Matthew’s season was cut short, but his journey proved he’s more than capable in everything he sets his mind to. He found a team that embraced him, and as he moves on to pursue higher education and wrestling at the next level, we know he’ll make us proud.

Eric walked in with a shoelace as a belt and left as one of the most coachable, hardworking athletes we’ve ever had. A state qualifier and top-20-ranked wrestler, he’s chasing the podium and a future in college wrestling.

Thank you to all the families, friends, and alumni who came out to celebrate these two. Matthew Jimenez and Eric Ruiz—once family, always family.

After the holidays, Eric and Colin came back hungry to work hard and compete again at the Pat Lovell Tournament in Aptos. Colin fought tough to secure a win, while Eric pushed his way to the finals. From taking 6th last year to earning 2nd place this time in a close match against Pittman, his improvement speaks volumes. Great job to you two—proud of the effort, hard work, and growth you showed out there!
