PHOTOBOOK OF THE DAY 📚

Inemuri – Eric Scaggiante (Signed Copy)
Libraryman, 2026

Inemuri is Eric Scaggiante’s (b. 2000, Italian) quiet exploration of a Japanese social practice of rest: sleeping in public while remaining connected to the world around oneself. Photographed in Japan, the series captures commuters in moments of stillness—bodies at rest within the rhythm of movement, suspended between private interiority and the shared experience of the train.

Rather than documenting Inemuri as a cultural practice, Scaggiante uses these fleeting scenes to reflect on presence, vulnerability, and the shifting boundaries between work, rest, and imagination. His photographs evoke a subtle atmosphere where silence, routine, and surrender coexist, revealing the quiet poetry contained within everyday moments.

On Wednesday, October 21st at 6:30 PM Eric Scaggiante will be at Micamera to sign copies of Inemuri (Libraryman, 2026) 📆

Inemuri (“i” – being present + “nemuri” – to sleep) is a Japanese social practice of rest: sleeping in public while remaining connected to the world around oneself.

Eric Scaggiante, born in Venice in 2000, dedicates his first book to an exploration of this practice, photographing commuters in moments of stillness: bodies at rest within the rhythm of movement, suspended between the private dimension of sleep and the shared experience of public space.

Rather than documenting inemuri as a cultural practice, Scaggiante uses these fleeting scenes to reflect on presence, vulnerability, and the shifting boundaries between work, rest, and dreams. His photographs evoke a delicate atmosphere in which silence, routine, and surrender coexist, revealing the quiet poetry of everyday moments.

For @heith___ & @tarawangsawelas, music has always been a vessel for spiritual communication. In West Java, tarawangsa — a bowed string instrument and sacred musical ensemble of the Sundanese people — has long been played in ceremonies connected to trance and communal gathering. On their seminal album Duori, Indonesian artist Tarawangsawelas and Italian producer Heith bring this tradition into conversation with electronics, field recordings and the warped textures of contemporary experimental music.
Their work builds on the philosophy of fourth world music, where advanced electronic techniques meet ancient acoustic elements to create imaginary cultural and temporal crossroads — but made even stranger. Ahead of their performance at Rewire, we talk to Tarawangsawelas and Heith about the origins of their connection, Sundanese mythology, working across continents, and finding a shared musical language far beyond language as we know it.

@upsammy_ & @piezopz debut collaborative album as Eerie Enterprise via @dkmntl. The 9-track LP titled ‘Places Remember Events’ out October 30 sees the duo funnel their singular styles into a classic-feeling but ultra-modern album of elegant, angular electronica.

Individually, Thessa Torsing and Luca Mucci have carved out strong identities within contemporary electronic music. As upsammy, Torsing has applied a delicate precision to ambient and uptempo approaches alike, building up a striking catalogue of releases. Meanwhile, Mucci has taken a wayward path through contemporary bass music and techno that matches edgy sound design with playful unpredictability. As Eerie Enterprise, both artists tap into their respective creative instincts while arriving at a unique sound with a nurturing quality they were both missing from modern dance music.

Having appreciated each other’s work for some years, in July 2024 Torsing and Mucci seized an opportunity to carve out two days in the studio. There was no expectation of an end product, but the sketches conceived during those open-ended, hardware-oriented sessions felt worthy of a deeper exploration developed and finalised over the following year-and-a-half.

Places Remember Events has an unapologetically nostalgic streak, calling to mind the warm glow of melodically-charged, golden-era electronica. Finding malleable approaches to their chosen sonics and applying them to intentional song structures, Eerie Enterprise collectively land on a sound that promises a lasting reward for the repeat voyager — satisfying headphone gear in the grand tradition of introspective electronic music, but also with a physical immediacy that manifests in the live set upsammy and Piezo have put together to perform the album.
