One year ago today, there was a billboard in the middle of Times Square showing real, flared skin from #HidradenitisSuppurativa 🥹

It still blows my mind because I know there was a time when seeing someone with skin that looked like mine on a billboard would have made me feel so much less alone on my HS journey 🫶🏽 Representation matters!! Seeing REAL skin, real flares, and real people living with HS reminds us that we aren’t the only ones going through this.

To look back and see the growth in the #HSCommunity and how far we’ve come in the HS space is UNREAL! People living with HS aren’t hiding anymore. We’re speaking openly about our condition, showing our real skin, sharing our stories, and making sure people know that HS is more than just “boils” or “ingrown hairs.”

And I’m so hopeful for where we’re headed! A future with less pain, more understanding, better treatment options, and MORE LIFE. 🙌🏾💜

And the craziest part is I had NO idea that a billboard was coming!! @incyte surprised us with our billboards featuring our HS flares 😭 A moment in time that I’ll never forget!

One year later, I’m still so proud to be part of this movement. And we’re just getting started. This is only the beginning!

“All good things all good things” - what you whisper to yourself in the dark of your eyes squeezed shut while the world shakes and crumbles around you.
