Just discovered @dinnerwithcharles, a new supper club in NoMad by husband & wife duo @andybodonnell and Chef Rob @irishrob123 where every week brings a new theme (Charles is their baby boy 👶🏻). We joined for Mahjong & Hot Pot night, and somehow they turned total tile chaos into something beautifully easy and addictive to play. It was so fun, comforting, and a much-needed escape. Highly recommend following @dinnerwithcharles and booking an experience!

For 30 days I fasted from social media, and from most people. I spent the past month [mostly alone] in a house in The Catskill Mountains tending to my heart, which needed more mending than I understood. All of the trampling from careless people had finally caught up to me. And while the heart is an extremely resilient muscle, it too needs rest.

I gave myself time and space to breakdown, to buckle, to scream, to cry, to become undone. I unraveled until I was unrecognizable even to my own self. What is real is not always pretty. There is no way to capture that type of rupture, but if you’ve been there, somatic memory is a motherfucker, and you know.

But in the midst of all of the piecemealing myself back together, God sent an army of angels in the bodies of women to help me heal. Through sisterhood, kindness, laughter, prayer, love…. I came out of my cocoon ready to spread my wings and take flight. I rediscovered who I was, found direction on who I’m to become, and laid to rest every false narrative I have about my worthiness.

All of this to say: get off social media for a bit. Go tend to yourself. Go mend yourself without the distractions of other people’s lives and opinions. You will be all the better for it.
