I’ve always thought a good book can make a trip even better. When you read about the history, castles, clans, landscapes, and people of a place before you visit, you arrive with a completely different perspective. What am I doing on a Saturday night? Reading my friend @ericamaebooks beautiful memoir—The Words Between Us. I am so lucky to read an early copy. I cannot wait until it’s out in the world. Erica is an amazing person and opening up about her situation is brave. ❤️

Earlier I had a date with my husband—charcuterie and live music! Plus, festival of the vine.
It was hard to get a good angle for this photo. I got my hair did darker and closer to my natural color. Changing it up a bit!

Spent the past five days in Southern California living the bookish life. We recorded our first in-person episode for Late Night Reads, and it was a blast being in the same room to record! I also went to RomantasyCon with Megan and my oldest daughter, Olivia. We had an absolute blast attending workshops, meeting authors, and chatting with other book lovers. I’ve had an idea for a romantasy percolating in my head for a while now, and let’s just say it’s definitely getting moved up on my writing schedule.

I’m headed into this next week more inspired than ever. And did I mention it’s release month? That’s right. My debut spicy romance novel, Practically Perfect, comes out on March 27. I’m equal parts excited and nervous. Here’s to kicking ass over the next few weeks to get everything done to make this release go smoothly while also continuing to work on book three.

In October, I read 8 books, bringing the number of fiction books I’ve read year-to-date to 123 (134 if you include non-fiction).🙌

After reading The Primal of Blood and Bone, I had to read the Fall of Ruin and Wrath by Jennifer Armentrout to learn more about Thorne. I have so many unhinged theories about this book. That’s why we’re covering on the podcast with an episode on Nov. 19.

It’s already Christmas season for me, so you know I had to read Meghan Quinn’s latest romcom, Merry Christmas, You Filthy Animal. It’s hilarious and spicy. Will never think about chocolate-covered cherries and popcorn garland the same way again. We’re diving into this book on the podcast with an episode on Nov. 26.

I had the privilege of reading three ARCs this month, including one of our most anticipated reads for 2026…If You Only Knew by Ellie K. Wilde. I have been dying to read Parker and Summer’s story…there are not enough words to describe how much I loved this book. Another ARC I read was the last book in the Wild Bluffs series, Chasing Wild, by Emma Kate. I have been waiting patiently to read Izzy’s story since I started reading this series earlier in the year. It’s such a fun read and has some incredible spice coaching. Who doesn’t want to read about your childhood best friend being in love with you? The last ARC I read this month was Where the Stars Burn by Erica Mae. It’s the second book in her Scotland Stars series, and you’ll thoroughly enjoy it if you have a thing for men with Scottish accents.

I also read three more books in the Jacksonville Rays series, including Pucking Wild, Pucking Ever After Volume 2, and Pucking Sweet by Emily Rath. Definitely a binge-worthy series with unforgettable characters and spice. We’re diving into Pucking Wild on the podcast with an episode on Nov. 12.
