Still buzzin’ after playing 2 SOLD OUT shows at the Greek Theatre with @morganjay. 3 years ago both Morgan and I admitted the universe put us in each other’s orbit for a reason. The result, one of the most electric comedy and music shows ever created. With a handcrafted team of individuals that helped make our vision come to life, I’m so proud of every musician, technician, and family of comics that helped make the magic happen. What a journey it’s been, life is beautiful!

My boy @morganjay SOLD OUT THE GREEK TWICE! I’m grateful to have been a part of it surrounded by so many talented, funny, and kind humans. His whole operation leads with love. Before every show, Morgan gives a toast led by positivity, something he lives by and spreads to everyone around him. Then @masihnooristani pumps us up, before I went on stage Masih said “KICK IN THE DOOR! THEN WE FOLLOW!” because I was first on the lineup. I’ve never been more hyped pre and post show than this night! Truly incredible core memory. And last but not least, everyone please follow @impatquinn !

Đó là một ngày tháng 8, mùa thu ở Los Angeles năm 2023.

Eric ghé xuống downtown đón mình đi chơi, tiện thể ghé qua studio của cậu ấy một chút. Thật ra chuyến đi đó chẳng có chủ đích viết album hay làm một bài nhạc nào cả. Đơn giản là lâu rồi mới quay lại LA nên rủ nhau đi lượn vậy thôi.

Háo hức thì háo hức lắm, nhưng chơi chưa được bao lâu, cơn jet lag bất thình lình kéo tới. Vật vờ không chịu nổi, mình cứ thế thiếp đi lúc nào không hay.

Trong cơn mê ngủ, mình nghe tiếng guitar của Eric cứ văng vẳng, hoà với tiếng mưa bên ngoài. Nửa tỉnh nửa mơ… May quá, lúc tỉnh dậy vẫn còn nhớ giai điệu đó là gì. Mình nói Eric: “Thu lại ngay đi, đoạn này hay quá!”

“Change” đã bắt đầu như vậy.

Melody ở đó, nhưng chưa có một lời nào, vì lúc ấy Tường vẫn chưa thật sự biết mình muốn viết điều gì.

Mãi đến năm 2024, vào một ngày đẹp trời, câu hát “think I’m ready for a change” tự nhiên xuất hiện. Nó gieo vào Tường một ý niệm rất rõ: “Đúng rồi, chính là thứ mình đang tìm!”

Từ ý niệm đó, Hero và Cehryl cùng bọn tớ phát triển bài hát tiếp cho đến khi “Change” dần thành hình như mọi người nghe hôm nay.

Về sau, Eric vẫn còn phân vân về tiếng guitar nylon ở phần intro. Cậu ấy nghĩ take guitar đầu tiên (chính là take thu lúc Tường đang jet lag hôm đó) không đủ sạch và tròn trịa nếu nghe bằng đôi tai của một người làm nhạc chuyên nghiệp.

Tường bảo: “Không, cứ giữ nó trong bản master cuối đi. Nó không cần hoàn hảo, nó cần thật và chạm. Tớ thấy nó có cảm xúc. Đừng thu lại nữa.”

Vậy là cậu ấy cũng chịu. 🤪

Nên tiếng guitar mọi người nghe ở những giây đầu tiên của “Change” hôm nay, cũng chính là một phần của khoảnh khắc bài hát này bắt đầu vào một ngày mưa ở Los Angeles ba năm trước.

Đôi khi, những lần chẳng cố ý viết gì lại cho mình những idea như “Change” vậy đó.

Và càng viết nhiều, Tường lại càng thích chờ khoảnh khắc “muốn viết” tự tìm đến mình.

Không phải lúc nào mình cũng cần đi tìm một bài hát. Có khi cứ sống trước đã. Rồi đến lúc, bài hát sẽ tự tìm đến mình.

A team of people who love each other can achieve anything. Playing the Greek Theatre was a dream come true and then some. Only bigger things to come. I couldn’t ask for a better group of people to share these special moments with❤️🏛️

@greek_theatre 2026 two sold out shows. Almost 12000 people.

Moved to LA in 2012, couldn’t get passed at any clubs or do any of the cool hip shows, so I would perform mostly jn peoples living rooms and backyards. Now in 2026, the backyards have gotten a lil bigger.

Give yourself and your dreams space to grow and change. Never know where you’ll end up.
