One of the highlights of my time as Guest Artist @pilchuckglassschool was the opportunity to work with the extraordinary session 7 Gaffers @tanner_weiss_glass and @m.i.n.h.i

I came prepared for my Gaffer slot with this idea drawn out. The plan was to make a Gannet shaped vessel, which will act as a bell jar idea to contain flameworked glass elements.

Watching the skill and expertise of Minhi England and Tanner Weiss apply their unique skill set and interpret my drawing was truly astounding.

As a solitary flameworker, it is always exhilarating to witness a team of people working together to bring a piece to life in the hotshop .

Hands down one of the most fun parts of the session was getting to see @e.moonly and @ericednerglass in action, flexing their hotshop muscles as part of the team. What a joy!

Huge thanks to Pilchuck Glass School and the team of talent that made this piece for me. I'm excited to take it forward and see it completed...although somewhat terrified to cold work it!

Well, that was intense!! 😵‍💫 A time was had at another magical craft school in the woods @pilchuckglassschool
Glass is crazy! Glass artists are crazier!! My brain broke so many times trying to comprehend what all these incredible artists were doing. Beyond humbled and floored at their discipline, obsession and desire to stick their hands and face in a burning flame day after day. I’ll never look at glass the same. 🔥🙇🏻‍♀️

Just finished an incredibly inspiring experience @pilchuckglassschool
Lost & Found was the theme for Session 7, 2026.
My goal in partaking in this course was to do something proactive to return to being a fine artist. After working many years producing my limited edition ceramic dishes & lamps, it was delightful to be out of my studio and away from orders, exploring a new material, meeting new people and learning new things.
I guess Lost & Found was just the perfect theme for me.
It wasn't just the amazing gathering of creative people, kind & eager to assist, it was also the spirit of the place and the land that helped me to find what I was looking for.
After traveling & kayaking abroad a for many years with @nigel_kayaks_world it felt like I was coming home, home to a place, the PNW where I grew up, & home to a person that has been hibernating inside me for awhile.

Experiences are an ingredient in art. It's always good to have a bunch of them on hand.
Thank you to my guides on this one, @andreaspencerglass @ericendrenglass & @e.moonly

Asterisk Lamp: Lamp worked Borosilicate
120v 60 watt LED 135 lumen bulb

Precess is a commitment. I love a challenge and the excitement of going deeper into glass processes. This has been an idea I have worked on for years with friends. Realized lampwotking was the best option. An incredible opportunity and scholarship came up @corningmuseumstudio last summer with instructor @davidwillisglass and his sidekick @ericednerglass ass ⭐️ Trust me, I have failed many times happily knowing I was learning.
