FINALLY A SHOW IN LOS ANGELES!!!! A little music, a little storytelling, and a whole lot of ¡ÓRALE!

Join me Sunday, November 8 at 11 AM at the @grammymuseum in Los Angeles for Latin Music Appreciation Day!

I’ll be bringing Paletero Man LIVE to the party, celebrating our stories, our music, and the joy of sharing both with the next generation.

And yes, there will be FREE books for kids, courtesy of the Grammy Museum!

Bring the familia. Let’s sing, dance, and celebrate together.

Texas, this was EPIC!!!!

We brought PALETERO MAN LIVE to the students of Texas and watched a book we love become something bigger!! Thousands of young readers throughout Texas singing, dancing, laughing and shouting “PALETAS FOR ALL!” back at us.

This is why organizations like @leadersreadersnetwork matter. Together with @hebread3 @heb they put books into kids’ hands and create experiences around reading they’ll remember.

Gracias to HEB and LRN for seeing this through and every student who filled this room with so much life.

And to Deacon and Eric, my brothers onstage. What a joy to do this show with you.

Books. Music. Community.

A DAY OF FIRSTS.

For years, I’ve had the privilege of sharing so many firsts with kids. First concerts. First author story times. First books of their own. First times seeing their family, language, food and culture celebrated in a story.

This time, I got a first too.

In Dallas, we brought PALETERO MAN to life with live music for the very first time.

And what a place to do it thanks to @heb and @leadersreadersnetwork!! During Hispanic Heritage Month, H-E-B’s READ 3 program and Leaders Readers Network brought us together to put books into kids’ hands, celebrate literacy, eat tortillas and make some NOISE.

Some kids experienced their first concert.

I experienced the first live performance born from my book. 🥹🎉🙌🏽

We got to have our first together.

Maybe that’s what I get to be in this life. An Ambassador of Firsts.

Books into hands. Music into hearts. Tortillas into bellies.

Paletas for one. Paletas for all!

So very proud of this record. Our very last Family Jam Band album.

17 years since we started this little band of ours. Hard to believe. It all led me here!

I’m so grateful for all the music, all the shows and all of you who have been with us along the way.

And I’m really excited for this new chapter. Spending even more time with you all as an author, a speaker, a musician and taco lover.

Go listen wherever you get your music!!!

Thanks, as always, for supporting us and growing up with us. Means everything.

Con todo,
Lucky

Our final album, Hasta La Vista…Baby, came out last Friday.

For a family whose job has been bringing firsts. First concerts. First storytimes. First dance parties. This “last” has been an emotional one.

In an amazing twist of fate, my friend and very first bandmate @tinydonuts123 filmed and edited this beautiful farewell video for @alishagaddishere and me. A chance to thank you, thank our bandmates, and reflect on this incredible run together.

It’s a few minutes long. We hope you’ll watch it.

And know this isn’t the end.

There are still so many dance parties to be had.

We love you.

“The creative act is not performed by the artist alone.”- Marcel Duchamp

When Lish and I started the family jam band 17 years ago, we had no idea it would become what it has for our family. If anything, we wanted to make art. We wanted to support ourselves and our community creating and probably most of all, we wanted to live and dream in the biggest way possible.

It’s fair to say all those things happened and then some. There’s been ups and down and everything in between. Miles traveled and new friends made. As an artist that’s been driving this bus for almost two decades and I can safely say we’ve arrived at the place I always hoped this ride would take us.

While in NYC recently, I read the Marcel Duchamp quote above and it struck at the heart of what I’ve been feeling these last few months while we finished this work.

This art, our art, could only exist with you all. The listeners. The families. The kids. It’s you that’s given our work life and purpose. We’ve been in this together the whole time and I didn’t fully realize it. So here we are. Our last family jam band album. Actually the last. Filled with love and skill, tears and joy. Of course, you can’t write an entire epilogue in an Instagram post but please know this-

This is not goodbye, it’s a see you later. The jam band will still perform when called upon. We will still bring the dance parties and smiles. But in terms of recordings-this is the final one.

It’s a truly special way to close this chapter. It’s made by incredibly talented people who make beautiful things that we love very much. Thank you familia. You slayed this.

And to you all, thank you for making our little band a part of your lives. We are eternally in your debt for it all.

As they say in the movies,

Happy Trails. Hasta La Vista…Baby.

From our family to yours.

MOONLIGHT is finally here.

This song came from some hard days.

If you’ve ever been to our house, you know we have a family tradition. Whenever the moon rises over the hills outside our window, somebody yells, “The moon! ¡La Luna!” We all stop what we’re doing, head outside together, and look up. Every single time.

Those moments became especially important as we searched for ways to help our autistic daughter find calm and joy. Lish and Indy would howl and dance beneath the moon, and for a little while everything else disappeared.

That’s where this song began.

Then something incredible happened. Our dear friend @annamoonandthestars joined us on the track. I still can’t get over the fact that a song called Moonlight found a singer named Moon. Some things you just can’t plan. The universe be universing. 😅

A huge thank you to @andytoymusic for helping us bring this to life. You’re magic, Andy. Thank you to Deacon, Wes, Robert, and Hans for pouring your hearts into this record with us. This song carries our past, our present, and the hope we have for the future.

This is the first single from Hasta La Vista… Baby!

I hope it brings your family a little peace, a little joy, and a reason to dance and howl at the moon.

Happy release day. 🌕 📸: @farylfilms
