What Good Would the Moon Be? from Kurt Weill’s Street Scene

Oh man, this piece has been with me since the very beginning. I sang this aria/MT Piece (wait but actually, what is it) for every single grad school audition and here it is many years later still with me! Maybe one day I’ll actually get to do the full role — manifesting 🤞

Conducted by the renowned @gemmanewmusic !! I even got to see some more amazing folks I know and even met Christopher Lloyd (who told me he loved my music so my year was made lolol)

“Il Mondo Era Vuoto” finds Fabrizio recalling a life that felt incomplete before Clara entered it, transforming the ordinary into something luminous and meaningful. Roy Hage and pianist Eric Sedgwick bring tenderness and excitement to Fabrizio’s aria, embodying a heart enlivened by love.❤️‍🔥

Our next performance of The Light in the Piazza is Saturday at 12:30pm! Tickets are available at the link in our bio.

On June 10th I spent my 30th birthday singing the cover run of a dream role in an all time favorite show. Clara in The Light in the Piazza at Opera Theatre of Saint Louis. @operatheatrestl

After my dad passed away when I was 13, my mom, sister and I moved to San Francisco for a year to heal and regroup. I went to the School of the Arts for musical theatre my freshman year and it was there that a teacher introduced me to The Light in the Piazza and told me that I would absolutely sing Clara one day. I fell in the love with show then, and have been dreaming for the chance to do it ever since. It is a story of bravery, trust, and resilience, of a beautiful and complex bond between a mother and daughter, and of what it TRULY means to unconditionally love and be loved. Themes that have always touched very close to home for me. This heartfelt story is wrapped up in a score that is a JOY to sing and listen to. I have to thank OTSL and Patricia Racette for the chance to step into this role as a cover. And I must thank my FABRIZIO, @edmondrodriguez for being the most committed, passionate, thoughtful, and unbelievably talented cover partner. Getting to share our love for this music and this story literally makes me WEEPY and I am so grateful for your friendship and collaboration.

The timing of this milestone couldn’t feel more divine. This year has been beautiful and has also expanded my capacity in ways that I didn’t expect. The peaks were high, and the valleys seemed so dark and impossible to navigate. But that is the thing about expansion, it isn’t comfortable, but I now feel like I can hold infinitely more, and so many long-time dreams have been coming true.

I am stepping into my 30th year of life with a heart full of gratitude. For my incredible and devoted partner, Mike, for my family who supports me in all things, for my UNREAL friends, and for all of the beautiful artists that I have gotten to make music with this year. Thank you for making my life SO stunning. I AM NOT STILL
CRYING. 😂💕😭 Thank you again to my OTSL family for the most beautiful birthday song I’ve ever heard. Please enjoy a few sound clips from the run!!!
