2025 was a bit of a rollercoaster, characterized by an arduous fertility journey, but capped off with the joy of being able to say: I’m pregnant, and Eric & I are expecting a baby boy this spring 🩵

motherhood was never a forgone conclusion in my story, but I found a partner who made me want to capture the magic that I had growing up with my parents, and to put our own spin on raising a child.

the real surprise came with multiple rounds of IVF, and the heartbreak, anger, and confusion that came with it. at the start — and through much of it — I was angered by Deb’s refrain that I was strong, that I could do this. I felt hopeless, without an ounce of control, and that no amount of strength could change the outcome.

now, (having apologized to Deb), I realize that I, and so many others, are fucking warriors and I’m proud of what my body was able to able to do in order to be pregnant today.

I am also proud, and forever grateful, to Eric — for his steadfastness, grace, and expert administration of approximately 300 injections. in this absolutely insane world, I couldn’t be happier to create a child with you - and make sure they love both heavy metal & broadway 🩷
