TWO SPOTS LEFT! Learn the magic of litho this summer with @ericwilsonson. Students will learn the processes and techniques of drawing on and printing from stones. CPC is one of the few places in Chicago where students have access to traditional lithographic limestones and is an exceptional studio to learn the lithography process. Through demonstrations and one-on-one instruction, students will learn how to use traditional and alternative drawing materials, etch their drawings, and use the printing press. Intermediate students can learn methods like aluminum or polymer plates, and color printing.

Project Statement:
“Working on this piece during a pandemic became very personal to me, digging deep to feel creative. After my visit to the Chicago’s South Side Community Art Center I was very inspired not just by their history and breathing it’s atmosphere but also their eagerness to look to the future by working on their community through art.
This is not just a depiction of the building itself but an homage to the founders of the South Side Community Art Center and the members it has served past and present.”

This portable ink cabinet by @ericwilsonson is pretty spectacular. 💥
_
@ericwilsonson This is a portable ink cabinet I just finished building! It has 2 removable trays, and can hold up to 16 cans of ink. Now it is easy to keep cans clean and organized.
It's made from MDO with phenolic laminate and masonite, and toggle latches keep it pretty air tight
